I like the Ancient Egyptian cards. I have a real fascination with Egyotology so I would love these. I did have a Golden dawn deck but I had a lot of my Craft tools stolen when I moved over here. My ex boyfriend thought it would be nice togive it away to all his "goth" friends. But I can´t buy these beautiful card myself and i can´t droptoo many hints to Aaron, can I? Could someone just confirm that I can´t ask someone to buy me Tarot cards becuase I am not really sure how i am going to get some more. My friend gave me my Golden Dawn pack for Midsummer 2 years a go, they were 2nd hand. Any ideas.

"Could someone just confirm that I can´t ask someone to buy me Tarot cards"

is that one of those silly superstitions?

if you want someone to get you some get one of your friend to for you B'day or something.

Yes, it's superstition. I bought my own.No adverse effects. If you want to you can tie yourself up in it all. Black cloth for covering [ some say MUST be silk] ritual type handling, heaven forbid some one touches them, etc. They are a tool, like any other. Treat them like you would something of value to you, but don't get knotted up in all the do's and don'ts. Nothing terrible will happen. I believe you should handle them often, get used to them - let them get used to you.

I am very interested in tarot, but I just don't seem to connect with it as much as I would like..I have purchased and sold many decks in search of what feels right...I do feel connected somewhat to Universal waite and Poppy Palin's Wild witch deck especially.

I have the Guilded Tarot deck. It's quiet a nice deck, the illistrations are not bad at all either. The major arcana illistrations are beautiful. Overall the deck isn't that hard to read, but I'm still learning. I'd really like to buy a new deck, maybe an oracle deck but I'm not sure yet.

I used to use ye olde Rider-Waite before they mysteriously disappeared. Some might think this one to be conventional or boorish but it has a traditional character that I find very appealing. I'd really like to take a little peek at the Book of Thoth, something about surprise frontal nudity and popping nipples has aroused my curiosity. :D

I got a beginers book to reading tarot and some cheap deck of cards. I tried a reading and it wasn't very nice. I was like wow  but how do you know when a deck is right for you? I read you all saying you rerally connected with a deck and they worked well for you...so how do you know when a deck is working badly or good for you?

I have a few Tarot decks, but I rarely use them. I should probably sell them or trade them off, but they're so purdy. The only deck that I actually use on occasion is Archeon, and the readings are always very accurate. The other decks that I own are Forest Folklore, Pagan Tarot, Druidcraft, Housewives Tarot, Fairy Ring, Sacred Circle, Well Worn Path, and Haindl.

I looked for a long time and settled on the aquarian deck. They felt good in my hands. I have had them for almost 15 yrs.

I maybe should have thought to add to this a few weeks ago, but I bought my Goddess Tarot deck about a month ago. I have had nothing but good come from it so far, and it works beautifully for me. The store I frequent has sample decks chained up so you can actually see the images before you buy the deck. When I went through their selection (I already had a couple in mind) mine was definately the right one and I knew it as soon as I started flipping through it. So, while gifts are nice and some people would know which to get you it's also very fruitful to just go get the one you want for yourself. Enjoy :)
