Deep Dark

I wrote this poem in 2000...
Deep Dark
In the deep dark recesses of the night,
When the world has been shut down.
An Angels’ sigh can still be heard,
In mind, and thought, and sound.
The seconds tiptoe slowly through,
Each dark, deep, endless night.
And silence screams, it’s endless scream
That’s far from sound and sight.
The darkness pools, it ebbs and flows
Like deep, dark, eternal tides.
That wash away both sight and sound
On which our senses ride
We all took life in a deep dark place,
And to darkness we return.
So before the final darkness comes,
Our souls must grow and love and learn.
