Let me start from the begining...

About a month ago I went to sleep just like any other night. I remember haveing dreams that night. They were just normal dreams nothing out of the ordinary. But then It got strange. I woke up in a jolt. I remember opening my eyes and looking straight up at the ceiling. I then tilted my gaze to the clock on the table beside me. It was 10:30am. I then tried to roll my body over to check on my child sleeping in the bed beside me. I could feel him there, but I couldnt move. My body was heavy and I felt as though I had a lead blanket laying on top of me. and I began to realize something wasnt right. I tried to yell to him but I couldnt hear anything come out of my mouth. I could see everything in my bed room exactly as it was, I remember the daylight streaming in my window. However I was having a hard time trying to figure out what to do I didnt know what was going on.

I lay there for 2m trying to figure out what to do. But then I hear and sense someone coming down the hall. I cant see the doorway because I cant move. but I know my house was locked. My husband was at work and no one else has the key. I began to yell at who ever it is. "Dont come any closer. I dont know who you are but you better leave. GET OUT GET AWAY!" I hear them stop. They heard me! (STRANGE) my son didnt. I then became very angry. and yelled at them more. They then walked down the hall and left. to where? idk..

I was then frustated enough and I woke up(Jurked into my skin is what is felt like).
I was really disorianted and scarded.

It happend 2 other times after this.
2 wks later. I had the same "asleep but awake" thing happen again. I could see it was late in the morning by how the sun was coming in the room. I heard that thing in the room again. I couldnt see it though. I forced myself up and I lunged forward and I fell on the floor beside my bed. getting up was the hardest thing Ive ever experienced, I could feel the coldness of the floor underneath me. I set there what felt like 10m. I then managed to somehow force myself back onto the bed. And I was on my side. I could see my son asleep. No one else was in the room. But I then see my 4 year old child get out of bed. He robotically grabbed a crayon from his nightstand and went over and was writting something around the light switch. I Yellled at him "WHat are you doing?" He looked at me and laughed and smilled. It wasnt my child doing this? It wasnt his laughter. I was then Fruious and watched him draw the numbers 2 5 and 4 in a triangle patern around the light switch. then he crawled back into bed and fell asleep imediately.

Thi whole expericene is beyod weird. I was beyond terrified.. I dont know what this was or means. I have my ideas but I would like to know what you guys think I could do to prevent this from re-occuring. HELP!!!!

It seems that Mora or Mira got you, its a greek legend, but very true, its a spirit, that climbs on you and keeps you down, the legend says if you manage to pull her hair (its a spirit I know but thats what the legend says) she will give you whatever you want with no catch!

Hey...

Well as my friend saggiatariandante says (who happens to steal internet from me  ) her name is Mira (Fate in english) and she offers you whatever you ask her, if you can pull her hair, I would do a cleansing.

Nahhhh It's sleep paralysis.

A fairly common condition whereby you become conscious but unable to move and most sufferers experience hallucinations.

When we dream we are paralysed. The brain takes over and that's it. No matter how fast you run in your dream your legs *cant* move, even if you wanted them to they cant. You might as well be a quadriplegic (that ssomeone who's arms and legs are fully paralyzed).

So, the story goes that the brain paralyses you for sleep, so you dont go running around and killing yourself, your dream then ends but the brain doesnt fully realize, it's like the brain isnt fully aware, or awake yet so it doesnt "unparalyse" you, it thinks you are dreaming and will keep you paralysed until it realises "Oops... she was awake... Sowwie!" and then you will be able to move.

Because the brain is not fully aware and awake yet hallucinations can occur. A dream is purely a hallucination, it isnt real, it is your brain inventing things and the same thing happens during sleep paralysis, your brain invents things, in face *YOU* invent things but dont realise it. What could be the worse thing that could happen while fully paralysed like that? Someone slowly approaching your door, you have no idea who they are but you cant even scream for help... Indeed your fears about such a thing could in fact make a "dream" out of that situation. Same as when you apply for a job you really want you will dream about it purely because it occupies your thoughts.

The interesting thing is, since it is a hallucination or "dream" you have the power to control what you see and hear. Which is probably why the footsteps stopped. In fairness it takes a decent amount of brain power to invent the face of a stranger, give him a body, clothing etc... and then create all of the actions needed for this imaginary person to open a door, so your brain probably thought "sod it, hes gonna walk off, i cant possibly invent a realistic situation" and thus, he went away.

Anyhoo... All you need to do is "imagine" that none of it is happening. I know it feels real and scary but you are in no danger whatsoever and you invented these characters so you control their fate. You need to imagine them going away, it's hard to explain but try it next time.

if you get overly concerned see a doctor, they may be able to prescribe something to aid you in complete sleep rather than semi awake.

Has anything particularly stressful occurred lately? Or any big changes?

Ah, good old sleep paralysis. I've been through them and heard footsteps also; it is a scary feeling. I've actually been able to see these things in the room after hearing them. I never saw details but I saw a white silouette standing at the doorway. Luckily it just stands there although one time the bugger actually moved. Her hands went up into the air and she sank into the floor. I heard footsteps across the floor and she popped back up again by the bed. By that time, I got so freaked out, I was able to gather enough strength to attempt a backhand punch at it. Of course all I accomplished was smashing the back of my hand into a piece of furniture by the bed and it bruised me up good.

Mental exercises on lucid dreaming might help. As dumb luck would have it, as soon as I was able to master it well enough to make it a trippy experience instead of scary, it stopped. Also like ShadowX says, it can happen with adults if there is a lot of stress going in waking life... health problems, emotional stress, or plain old sleep depravation.

Thanks for all the good advice guys. I think that I did have some control in my dream. And I know I was asleep. But my mind was fully awake. It’s funny how I remember how everything felt almost every detail of it. I rarely have dreams I remember.

I appreciate all the feedback. It has helped me a lot. I’m going to try to get some of the bad energy out of my house and do a good cleansing. I’m also working on reducing stress.

Its unusual that this kind of dream only happens when he isn’t at home.

I just feel like something is screwing with me for the fun of it. If it is a spirit of some kind it has a really weird sense of humor. Almost like a mischievous kid.

Oh boy, I got that one too, once or twice. It's less scarier when you know it's just sleep paralysis, but when I had it the first time, oh boy, oh boy. I was afraid to sleep for days!

To me it's happens more often, when I'm stresed out and have important and heavy dreams. So it's like "Wait, don't get up right know, there was something important, just be sure to remember it."

Perhaps you didnt understand (or you believe this is spiritual and not biological) but what you experienced has nothing to do with bad energy or spirits. It is a recognized sleep disorder called Sleep Paralysis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

Everything you said is a symptom of it, particularly the heavy feeling as though you are being weighed down so it is often associated with a demon sitting on your chest and all other stuff but it really isnt. You just need more, and decent sleep, and to remove the stresses you face at the moment.

Nope, still sleep paralysis. Otherwise if a spirit possessed your body why would it not attempt to use your body? Surely it would try.... Plus, you wouldnt be aware of it, not that i believe it to be technically possible.

Hehe, shadowx, hehe ^^(just hehe, I sit here and giggle, just cause.. ^^)

Sorry, sometimes it's just the normal, medical reason. Hehe. But even thogh it's really scary. I wonder how many people do have those and what they do think. Pagans and folks will probably first think at some kind of demons/whatever (me not, since I'm actually quite rational there) but what explanation will others find?

Thats the problem with pagans, or anyone else who believes in the paranormal, anything weird MUST be ghostly! But nope, not the case :P

I alway like to find the best of all worlds ;) I've actually studied physics which gave me quite an analytical look at the world. I think it's great to have the ability to rationalize and then just decide against it for more fun ;) Sometimes you can use both worlds with the same solution but other ways, which is quite interesting. So you suffer from sleep paralysis/demons? Just minimize your stress/get a good cleansing. Both is actually the same, but some ways work better for some people. Knowing that will open many doors to self improvement.

Also just knowing it's sleep paralysis and is not harmful at all would help much better than freaking out course a demon is sucking up your soul ^^
