Angry Black Cat Dream

Hi everyone! First I'd like to say thank you in advance for any help or just for reading this.

Last night I had a very vivid dream of an angry black cat. It was hissing at me and made me feel as if it was going to attack. The dream also revealed that a very young kitten was behind the black cat. I then remember saying to my husband in the dream that "she's protecting her kitten".

Any ideas what this could mean?

First thing that came to mind was that the black cat meant secret knowledge and the act of hissing at you while "protecting" the kitten seems to me as serving as a warning to not reveal too much information about yourself and your beliefs to others.

The kitten was gray and I remeber it walking in circles two or three times.

It makes sense to me when you said to not reveal too much about myself. I have been feeling conflicted about this phase in my life. I have been researching and trying to learn more about my spiritual side and I know that my family and friends would not understand.
