My mother and I: Prophetic dreams

My mother often told me about her dreams that came true. She would dream about a huge event, whether it be a natural disaster or a city disaster, and it would happen a very short while after. I vaguely remember when she told me about a dream she had, a disaster happening in New York. A crash or something, I forgot that detail. But the next day, the dream came true. New York experienced this accident. I think it was her dreaming about 9/11, but she told me about the dream when I was about 13 (probably she was just retelling me about the past or whatever, if you get me).
Now, for me, I can remember my dreams very well. I don't have to write them down or anything. I just wake up in the morning and think about the dream for a good 5-10 minutes, while I'm brushing my teeth. Then it gets permanently implanted in my head. I don't think I had prophetic dreams, but I can interpret dreams. I have interpreted dreams for my friends. Once, my friend told me about a dream she had when she was 6 years old. She asked me to tell me what it meant. I listened to her details, and I easily converted the dream into a little foretelling of the future using my broad knowledge of symbolism. After I told her my foretelling, she said to me, "Oh my god, that's EXACTLY what happened after I had the dream!" Or something along those lines.
I also remember my nightmares very well. I'll post my worst nightmare in another thread. It's one which had a supernatural occurrence in it, the most terrifying feeling and sighting I ever got in my years of dreaming.
Just wanted to share this.
