Everything Under the Moon

This is my weird dream season apparently. Two nights ago I dreamed that hyenas were roaming my neighborhood. Even more interesting, I was one of them. I had the sense of being the female hyena who was facing down the two aggressive males. Then the alarm went off.

This an awkward question and I don't know much about hyenas, but what kind of facing down? Protecting a child? Territorial? Sexual (The awkward part of the question)?

I think I was protecting the neighborhood. I was right at the interesting part when the alarm went off and a cat started smacking my face. I did read that hyena is a strong totem, so it could be a message. I really could have used another five minutes that morning. Dreamwise, sleepwise, everything. And at my age, sexual questions aren't awkward anymore.

The Hyena totem represents heightened instincts and the spectrum caring vs ferocity. You may want to ask yourself if its time for the truth to come out. Or maybe that its time to face your demons.

Hyenas are basically highly-tuned dogs who are extremely clan-oriented. Family protection, using both intellect and group properties to protect and care for their clan, etc...

Maybe there is an unfriendly neighbor or two whose presence is giving your subconscious some red flags?

The next door neighbor thinks she's the queen of the cul-de-sac, but it feels like the neighborhood was a metaphor. The setting was used so that I would recognize that the message was for me, and was important. It's kind of like the spider dream. Familiar elements so that it stays with me.
