I feel like I might have posted this awhile ago but cannot remember... Either way, I feel like I need to mention it again if I did before.
I don't usually remember my dreams so when I do I usually regard them as significant. Sometimes I can figure out what they mean (as I do get prophetic dreams at times) but this one I haven't been able to crack.
It's always different but with the same theme.
I'll be in a car driving, sometimes alone and sometimes with people who are supposed to be my family or friends. Sometimes there are even strangers there. We'll be driving and driving then suddenly the road begins to sink downward into a large body of water. One time it was that I was driving in marshy lands at a state park setting and I was on the piers before they suddenly were submerged in water. Another time I remember us being on the highway over the ocean and suddenly the road simply slants downward into the water.
No one ever gets hurt and the car only sometimes becomes submerged in the water. If that happens, as I said, no one is injured but I always get a sense of panic when I see the water coming up.
That's it! There's nothing else. That's really what it is every time - though it's usually prefaced with various plot-lines that change each time.
Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Perhaps it means that your headed for "deep water" per say. And warning not to fret because you'll stay afloat and the different scenarios your in represent how many ways the you could end up in this "deep water" and telling you its okay to ask for help in that time and that the people you ask for help will be okay as well.
O Goddes, all praise to you. Ta em hotep, anekh hrak. Lady Isis, I adore you. Nebet aset, tu a atu.

That's a really good thought. It hadn't even crossed my mind and it'd make sense because I think I usually get these before negative things happen in my life. Thank you for the input!

Re: Strange recurring dream - Help with interpretation?
Well, perhaps I am projecting myself a lot into this, but I used to also have a lot of dreams about driving (specifically, attempting to steer the car from the passenger seat or the backseat, or the brakes failing). I came to realize that the driving was a metaphor for control over my own life and that it was a sign that there was someone else was "driving" me, so to speak. Once I separated myself from a toxic, abusive family member and freed myself of his influence, those dreams haven't really come back.
It's possible that in your case, using the same metaphor of driving as controlling your own life, you keep fearing that no matter who's with you or how much control you have, your destiny (i.e. the road) is still fundamentally out of your control and will lead to catastrophe. But the signal from your subconscious is that even when you go off the "deep end", so to speak, it's never as bad as it seems.
Of course, I could be way over-projecting myself into your dreams. But that would be my (very biased) read!

That's... Very plausible. I don't handle lack of control very well and never have. There are a few things now, that I'm wondering if it could be. Whether it be saying that sometimes I can't control what I'd like OR that I'm afraid I'll never be able to be happy if I can't control everything; I have no idea. I think this is very spot on too. Thank you!

Cars are always vehicles of ourselves. .. You're worried about all the things you are carrying such as responsibilities. Water can often signify emotions , you might be wanting to share pieces of yourself with more people close to you and fear the results. .. You shouldn't worry though. People are usually more understanding than we think they'll be. .. And if they aren't ,you don't need that negativity anyway. You'll be perfectly fine.

Thank you so much for the input! That's something I hadn't thought of either and it fits. Everyone's suggestions and thoughts do. I'm going to have to really think about this now.
