Everything Under the Moon

I made this spell specifically because I have a lot of snake sheds piled up from the last few months (A side effect of having three healthy growing young snakes) and wanted to do something magical with them. So I guess the audience for this falls pretty narrow, for the person that either owns snakes or has somehow found their old skins. Either way I thought I would post it anyway.



Supplies

• Small bottle with some kind of top
• Snake skin
• Fragranced oil of your choosing
• Thin, blunt instrument to push skin into flask (I used a pencil)
• (Optional) Necklace chain/baggie to carry charm

Steps

• Put a drop or two of your chosen oil on your fingers
• GENTLY run a small portion of the oil down the body of the skin
• Open the bottle and begin gently pushing the skin into it with the blunt instrument
• Say:
  "I thread you with new beginnings.
  I thread you with new life.
  I shed my old self into the waves of the past.
  With you, I cast a fresh start.
  My new flesh stronger.
  My new flesh purer.
  My future boundless."
  (*Note* This is just what I said, change as it fits your needs)
• Place cork/top on bottle
• Put on necklace/Place in bag to carry around with you.

Anyway, there you have it.

If youre willing to buy sure, why not.
I would only be able to make one right now because I only have one shed saved other than the one I used for this. You'd probably have to wait a month for another.

And now I'm thinking where do I find snake skin, so I can make one. Bad jay! Bad!

Funny I should read this now. I've been journaling about renewal, sketching a snake shedding its skin, etc. I dreamed about it yesterday morning, as well. Lots of changes in my life right now, lots of shedding the old, and growing into the new.

Nice charm you made, jaybirdblue. "A snake shedding its skin" is such a ubiquitous theme to most of humanity, since ancient times. Pretty much anyone anywhere will relate with the symbolism of it. To me our shed skin could stand for experiences we've had, joyful or sad or whatever. However, when an old way has served its purpose, we must abandon it, lest we grow out of it painfully...better, I think, to willfully and gracefully let it go, with gratitude.

I just missed Rosie's (our ball python) last shedding. I don't know if you do other sorts of spell work, but it might not be a bad idea to save the shed skin, maybe store it in a clean spaghetti sauce jar or something, to incorporate in future spells relating to transformation and growth.

If anyone needs any snakeskin in the UK let me know. You will have to pay for shipping but I have quite a bit and my brother has 3 snakes. So I may be able to help.

It could also benefit people checking with their own local reptile shop. You never know, people do use snakeskin to make keyrings, pictures, etc so if you say you looking for that...I met a kindly lady who gave me two full sheds for nothing. Don't ask, don't receive.
