Did anyone try those? And for what purposes? I was thinking to get their meditation CD, but was wondering if anyone tried it and what they thought.
Thanks!

Sounds like your generic 'psuedo-science', if you ask me..

But if you want to try it, then go for it. I'm not sure how much they cost, but if they're expensive.. I'd give it a miss. Although you might find some benefits, this'll more likely be because you're expecting them - i.e. The Placebo Effect.

I've tried things similar to this before, and never had any success. From the experiences I've had, I wouldn't recommend spending money on it.. But, if you think you might find some benefits, please go ahead and try it. Just be sure you aren't getting ripped off for what's (essentially) a tape full of 'hiss' :).

Hmm, doesn't sound very encouraging. I wonder if anyone actually tried it.

Mememememe!

I ran across Brainwave Generator one day probably looking up how to induce Astral Projection.

The basic idea of Hemi-Sync is that you'll hear a noise of your choosing (Ocean waves, etc) and a light tapping or sine tone that varies in beat in the background. Your brain eventually follows the frequency of your choosing.

Ie: Beta to Alpha brainwave frequencies.

That particular example starts off with a more rapid beat since you're wide awake and just getting started with meditation, then after a span of however many minutes the frequency makes a decline to bring you into Alpha - a good meditative state.

I have a hard time meditating, I feel good and relaxed, next thing I know it's morning! lol. The slight annoyance of the frequency being played keeps me from falling completely asleep, but it's tolerable enough to get where I need to be. It's an acquired music, so to speak.

I prefer to lay down when I meditate, and you do need headphones for these MP3's. I bought an MP3 player and it's been the best investment ever.

I recommend trying to find a free download or two to see if you like the extra boost for meditation before buying a CD however. Not everyone is as ecstatic about them as I am. :)

I've just downloaded it and put it on my MP3, it's not a whole CD but its got an hours worth of Binaural Beats on there so great for trying out. Gonna try mine when I go to bed in like 10 mins, hopefully have my 2nd OBE *hopes & prays* lol.

May not be BS. After all, people have done testing about how various beats on the drum at certain speeds can create an altered state of consciousness prone to visions and whatnot. You can also use the drum music from Michael Horner, which costs about the same as a standard music CD for the same thing.

Or, if you own a drum, the cheapest route would be to get a stopwatch and beat the drum once a second, and record your performance.

I have used this to very good effect... though the best actually come from a live performance. I went for several years to a group that used this technique and had visions almost every time I went. You should try this more than once, because the only time it didn't happen was the first.

A few of my home sessions were less than eventful, but with the group it was pretty successful.
