Good afternoon and many blessings (or what have you. goodnevil ;) )

I'll go by vassal.

I'm 33 years old & I am addicted to #filters on profile photos.

I'm male. I like kindness, aesthetics & learning. I dislike cruelty, ugliness in soul or action & I certainly dislike ignorance with no care for growth.

I've worn many hats in my short working life. Actually, scratch that. I'm working on ego & pride. Leaving this as my stream of consciousness allows. Better to dwell in humility.

What is more important is passion. I'm passionate about yoga (hoping to get certified for teaching by next year), meditation & everything theological, occult & esoteric. I'm also empathically drawn to be passionate about others well.. passions. So I have to limit myself LOL.

As far as my spirituality goes..

My father is ex-Mormon-turned-Atheist.
Adoptive Mother for most my life is Buddhist-Shinto because that's what happened to that generation in Japan. Born Shinto. Die Buddhist.
My birth-mother whom I met too late in life turns out to read palms, tarot, practices kundalini yoga & is a medium.

It appears I took after mother. But due to my lack/surplus of culture I never felt comfortable in any arena. You'll probably forgive my reconciliation of East & West. I'm panenthiestic pagan by all definitions but I am a devotee to a Goddess who has revealed herself to me in multiplicity through my theological studies. I call her Aphrodite/Venus because that's the closest expression I can grant her. The Cyprus-borne Goddess originated as an amalgamation of perceptions from the Eastern expressions of Astarte, Ishtar, Astaroth, Inanna, Devi.... a hymn to her birth draws parallels with Lakshmi's oceanic birth. It's quite fun to track the lingual play. Maybe it's the travel of the Goddess from East to West which I empathize with! Perhaps it's my own struggle with East vs West which led me to her.

I beckon her as Aphrodite though I know this is only one way of calling a facet of her attention. I worship her daily with baths, libations, incense & music. I know through my three years of practice on a variation of devata-'yoga' (Union of Divinity with Self/Invocation) some of what she does & doesn't like. That has mainly been my methodology. When pressed I might say I'm an Alchemist (But I hate using that title) as my magic is about transforming my 'self'. Expressing the golden divine in the leaden body; this the fruit of a decade of practice in yoga, meditation & qigong. I'm fairly solitary but I'm really hoping to meet others so I can deepen my connection with the goddess & practice. I have much more I can learn outside of my circle of studies.

Thank you both for the warm welcome (& kind offer!) Maybe after I've freed up dedicated time - I can then connect on that! Currently spend most my time immersed in Sanskrit texts, (wrapping up my mantra practice for now.) Yoga & ritual invocation/meditation. :D for now just getting comfy 8-) love reading all the posts!!
