What did you do with the white candle and sage - besides light them? Open a window to let the bad air out. The sage needs to get into every nook and cranny, attic to basement, the closets and cupboards, etc., You can use a candle - dressing and charging the candle with magical intention and really use your Will to push positive energy into the space, visualize it expanding to fill the house.

Cleansing a space involves three steps
1. Purify the space sprinkling to remove bad juju
2. Re-Fill the space with positive power, or ultraviolet light from a UV flashlight
3. Seal it with an invoking pentagram to summon light

Write your own incantation or use a verse as you pace a circle in each room
Draw down n’up and circle about, all good in pushes all bad out

Or Light a black candle (for banishing) in front of a mirror (a portal) and state thrice:
Any dark or harmful force does now return unto its source.
Take the fast and swiftest train. Only light and good remain.

Here's what I feel based what goes on in my house..
I have spirits at one time a dark one..
What I have in my house is portal for some reason maybe I'm on ley line?
Makes sense.. But my house has some negativity I have learned to deal with it .
Candles and in scents. And to other if the land has seen conflict like wars..
or just bad things in or around.. sadly most likely the negative energy will not leave.
