Magic Eye/Stereograms

Postby Sercee » Wed Dec 20, 2006 3:51 pm

Whee! I just saw my first stereogram picture! I'm so excited, that was neat! It was a pair of pteranodons on a mountain/forest landscape.

I don't know why, but I've never been able to get my eyes to focus right. I was a bit of an outcast when 'Magic Eyes' became really trendy LOL
Anyway, I found a couple really neat ones that I'm using for my screensaver now... at least until I notice that it's easier to focus on that than my project!

my method for magic eyes was not to focus but to unfocus and since magic eyes are like the same thing over and over again as soon as i got one to move into the next one the picture would just appear.

Hey at least you figured it out. I still cannot get the hang of those. My boyfriend just figured how to do them recently too.

I've tried all the little instructions the books would offer, but none worked. Perhaps I should try this unfocusing thing...

I have never been able to see them. I used to look at them, unfocused like everyone says, no joy. I have excellent eyesight, by the way, weird- because I have had many blows to the head and two serious eye injuries, but my last eye test came back perfect. I wish I could see them, I feel left out! lol.

i've never found the instructions to help.

as stupid as it may sound ive also taught myself to instead of making the image come out , but go further in, like an indent but doing it hurst my eyes after a while.

One of those pictures that just look like abstract art, but if you stare at it a certain way it actually forms an image (supposedly).

That is kind weird Eretik. I always thought maybe I couldn't see them cause of my poor vision. I can't see like two feet away without my glasses, but I guess it's not the case.

I know. My friend couldn't see them at first either, he has awful eyesight. Then he tried the unfocusing technique and started to be able to. He has those kind of glasses that make people with normal eyesight get dizzy, when they put them on! I think it must be to do with head injury, but I still can't see them. It annoys me, cos even my little kids got the idea after a while!

Well there is definately a technique I find. Now that I know I can do it (I really thought the magic eyes were a conspiracy for a long time!) I broke down how I do it and it comes fairly easily to me now. The screensaver I use is a simple cube with a pretty, dark background. It's meant to remind me to 'think outside the box'. I also have a mobius strip on an egyptian-like background.

This link might help with the technique:

These are some nice images:
