If you were stranded on a Desert Island.......

Postby [Enlightenment] » Fri Feb 09, 2007 2:59 pm

What three Pagan/Spiritual/etc. books would you take with you?

I've pinched this off another site because I thought it was cool

Mine would be -

1) My own BOS
2) The Outer Temple of Witchcraft by Christopher Penczak
3) Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce

These are the books I would take with me at this present time. This list would change by next month lol.

And yours...............?

Every time I look up you're plugging Christopher Penczak LOL

Umm at this time?
My BoS
Spiral Dance by Starhawk
A tossup between Stranger in a Strange Lang (full version) by Robert Heinlein and Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk.

Though to be honest if I was on a desert island I wouldn't be doing a lot of reading :)

Myst

1) Solitary Witch by Silver Ravenwolf
2) To Ride a Silver Broomstick
3) To Stir a Magick Cauldron

You can never have too much toilet paper on a desert island.

Two blank paper books and trade the third for some pencils.

"To Ride a Silver Broomstick"

that title always makes me laugh, honestly, what kind of person even considers reading it, that title is the reason why ive never read silver.

1) My BOS (all of them)
2)Fiona Horne's, Witch: A Personal Journey (if im stuck on an island i need a laugh!)
3) one of my element encyclopedia's not too sure which.

Herbs are very pagan related. There's a whole section of laws pertaining to wortcunning in both the gardnerian and alexandrian BoS. And I know that in the old days pagans (as in country folk) relied on herbalism for health and charms.

Of course it's Pagan related, Sobek. You read the comics for a good laugh then use it to light a bonfire for the next sabbat :)

This is tough. *only* three books? argh! But I will try really hard, just because I like you guys. :-D

My collection:
1. BOS (since my BOS is a ring binder with both blank and written pages in it, I'll just cheat and assume that the paper requirement is covered)
+ and many pens

2. The Magician's Companion (I forget who wrote it)

3. The Herb Book by John Lust

If I could scam a fourth, it would the the Inner Temple of Witchcraft, or maybe The Wiccan Warrior.
Um. This is the reason I don't like desert islands. Not enough bookshelves!

Oh, and I'd want at least one tarot deck. OR maybe I'd use runes instead, since they are much less likely to mold or something dreadful. I guess I'd hope that there was some clay on that island, so I could use cuniform or something for continued note taking. But I'm not sure I'd have time for that much transcribing before the books themselves would go bad!

Enlightenment: I'm going to a con in a couple of weeks and meeting Christopher Penczak! :-) PM me if you have any requests! That goes for all of you.
