Colors and Other sensations

When I get to know people a little, I end up associating them with a color, and sometimes something else. For example, my one friend feels like a very deep green, and in addition to that she makes me think of the smell of the forest floor. Very Earthy. I dont litteraly, visualy, see these colors. They just feel right. I do this with alot of people, and some are harder to tell than others. Some only have colors, others have a color and a smell, texture, or picture. What is it that I am doing exactly, because i dont know. I have tried doing some research but Im not coming up with anything. Anyone have any ideas?

I 'feel' auras and it sounds kinda like what I do....like my husbands aura is kinda hard and unyielding and smells like ice. My daughter's is bubbly and reminds me of a bubbling brook but smells green and foresty. That is the best I can describe how I feel them. Is it like that? I'd never heard of anyone else being able to do it...I thought I was odd so I never talked to people about it. I've damped it down for so long though that now I can only do it for people I've known for a long time or that I get very close to. I guess the old adage 'use it or lose it' is for real.
I would really like to hear more about how long you all have been able to do this and how long you have to know someone or can you walk up to someone and read them right away etc... It's just very interesting for me so sorry if I'm being too nosy.

I've always gotten a taste in my mouth and smells from the time first started in Wicca. Now with my Native American tradition, different types of energy workings in ceremony (for days, even weeks), leave tastes and smells also.
I used smell something from people, even before Wicca. Several people over the years had this one strange obnoxious oder. Everyone of these people got cancer or tumors later. It must be an aura smell. I've seen aura colors in other people too. You can sense or feel them at times. There is a whole study for that...

Hmm.. this gives me alot to think on. I dont think its just association though, Sobek. I do think its part of it but not completely. Most people it seems pick up on the smell. Smell actualy comes up least for me. Well, with the exception of taste. I never taste anything. It is typicaly color and texture.
Heres two more examples of people i have had this happen with. (if you want you can jump ahead!

) I had another friend who was overall just very reclusive. He opened up to me, but not very many others. I mentioned this same phenomenom in regard to someone else and he asked me what his was. I took a second and replied to the effect of his color was a burnt orange, like it had been brighter before but it was as it smoke from his past had coated it in that kind of grime. In addition to that, he felt like sand paper. After that i just kinda sat there and told him about himself and how he acted and why. He just looked at me and was like "yeah, thats exactly what went down" and most of the time he went into more detail. I had one friend who had a scene. He was the water, but it felt like when you have warm water just barely going over your toes at the end of a tide or wave. The scene itself was a lake, with light colored sandy, small beach. The water was warm, the sun was shining and you could feel it on your face. Behind you is a large growth of pine trees, and you occasionaly get a smell off of them on the air. His was the most indepth one i have ever gotten, but it didnt come to me right away. I only felt it off of him the first time i grabbed his hand and tried to see what was there.
Some people, for me, are VERY easy to sense. I get it off of them almost instantly. Some hide theirs and are harder to sense. It all depends on the person. Once i know them pretty well I have a tendancy to pick up on it more than when i first meet them. It really isnt that often that i get it from just meeting them. Some i dont get until i am touching them. It all depends. I have been doing this for a pretty long time actualy. Im not sure how long actualy because its always kinda been there. Ashara, that is exactly what im talking about. I "feel" it. I dont know how else to describe it. You have basicaly hit the nail on the head.
(sorry its kinda long

I do that too. For me, I think it's just cause that certain song remind me of that person for whatever reason.

I also couple games and events to music, every song I listen to is coupled with someone/something

hmm...it *almost* sounds like synesthesia, except that synesthesia usually involves an experience of that which you associate.

Some people are associated with colors, some with animals, some with smells. My brain isn't normal.

I always tend to associate animals with people. My best friend makes me think of a fox, because she's somewhat sly but at the same time still caring. *shrugs* dunno why I think of animals, but I do.
Blessed Be,

LOL Now music is a different thing. Music reminds me of emotions, or scenes, and a mnemonic for events or even whole swaths of my life. Colors and smells are for people and places, whereas a song can evoke their interaction, or even a period of my life where related emotional themes were dominant.
Music is all about recording the process of change.
