I did it!

Postby Broken2nite » Sat Dec 15, 2007 3:59 am

This may seem ridiculous to anybody but me, but I'm so excited right now! I think I sucessfully meditated for the first time!!!!

I've tried it MANY times before and never really felt anything...except a yawn, itch, and occasional sneeze, but this time it was different. I was holding a piece of Ocean Jasper in my hand, which I've read was a very calming stone, and I had some lavender incense burning so I was able to get really relaxed for the first time EVER! Also there was a thunderstorm going on outside, which just made it awesome. After a while I decided not to give up like I usually do, and took my friend Matt's advice and started repeating a word over and over. Suddenly I saw fields of lavender in my head, so I started saying the word "purple" over and over again in my head because for some reason it made me feel good.

Well, the rest is kinda blurry and I still don't really understand it, but maybe someone on here can tell me what they think??? FYI, I know I didn't fall asleep because I almost always know when I'm sleeping. I was aware that my body was awake, but it was just like...like I wasn't there anymore? I'm not sure how to say it.

Anyway, okay so the first thing I see are shadows and I realize their trees. I see trees and I look up into the tree line and I swear I just saw the outline of a back of wolves. Before I started I asked for my animal totem to come to me and well there you go. I saw a pack of wolves and suddenly I was running with them (These did not look like the cute cuddly wolves I see on tv. These were snarling mean lookin things) and I suddenly heard the word "Lupine" whispered in my head (I get those. Words just suddenly pop into my head like whispers and it usually is something significant) and then all the sudden it stops. Then I see this huge red firey bird in the sky and it felt like it almost came out of my chest, I dont know. It was strange. A beautiful bird though. Well, then that image faded out.

Suddenly I'm zooming down a high way and I recognize the high way headed up into the Dallas area (I live close to Dallas sorta) and up toward West Texas. I hear my ex boyfriends name whispered in my head, so instead of saying purple I say his name, and the whole thing changed and got really weird. Lots of trees, out in the middle of no where standing out in the rain, and it was like I was whispering a message to him out in the rain. I don't know, that part was really strange.

Then I just sorta snapped out of it. I look up and it turned out I'd been sitting there for an hour! I was so excited, I felt really good afterward. I felt the energy off of it for the first time ever! Feels really good!

Anyway, sorry this post is so long, but I really wanted to share this with everyone! This site has helped me so much in learning what I want to know! Thanks!

Good job! It was hard for me to meditate the first time also. I think that holding a stone in your hand really helps. Plus the thunderstorm might have had something to do with it.

Sunstoneleo, that was fantastic! Congratulations! That sounded like a full-blown shamanic journey.

Keep it up! Now you know how to get there, and that's very valuable. You may wish to write everything down for next time.

That sounds amazing :)

I've tried meditating, but normally all I get is a tingling feeling, or dark blurry shapes. Nothing terribly exciting though.

Congrats :D

I do that a lot. I'll be sitting there, kind of put my head down slightly to rest...next thing I know, start seeing other places. I'll start by sitting in about a 7-8 foot circle of 12 tumbled stones of clear Quartz crystal. In that circle usually have just a ceremonial pipe and Eagle feather. I will do a simple pipe ceremony calling the directions. Followed by offering prayer for spirit guides while holding the Eagle feather. Then lay down the feather and meditate.

My new years resolution is to meditate daily, today was my 2nd time in a row, I've gotten lazy with it, but not any more. That sounds like an amazing experience.

Something I've tried and I've already felt a lot of success with was I downloaded some soothing, vocal-free flowing music that was meant for relaxation and meditation (just to help me focus) it's very nice not having to work in total silence. I've been experimenting with eyes open and closed, but when they're open I look at my silver tree plant (I <3 all things silver and it naturally grows silver in its leaves) and sometimes I reach out and gently touch it, and feel the energy of life it emanates.

So far I haven't seen much in my meditation, but I'm also a newbie with it. Today though I briefly saw two balls of energy whirling around each other, I thought that was pretty cool! Also afterwards, I feel very calm and relaxed, not sleepy, more like... recharged, this is exciting for me because I'm still new and I already feel I'm having some success, so who knows, maybe someone reading this will take an idea or two out of my experiences and choices with meditation.

I haven't read too much about ways of meditation (on purpose, I sort of want to create it myself and go with what feels best with me) so if anyone who has done a lot of research about it (like all of you, lol) feel free to comment about it.

And again, congratulations! Visions are quite a leap! =)

Create your own way is best. I try to find time for meditation everyday. But I like to combine meditation, communication with spirit guides, visions, astral travel, visualizations or simple prayers, all in the same simple ceremony.
