I've read of some magick prevalent in shamanic traditions and Aboriginal magic, that people can guide their dreams with the aid of certain herbs and spells, and they can remember those guided 'journeys' after they awaken.
I would like to try that, because my dreams have been prophetic many times since I was 10, and I would like to develop them further by being able to dream of the future willingly, and advance the depth of my gift. I would also like to remember my dreams after I awake.
Thanks if anyone knows any hints to guide and remember dreams!
P.S. I know that putting a bag of mugwort under the pillow is supposedly able to help people remember dreams. Haven't tried it yet, but does it really work??

Hi Karl,
Well, so far as the mugwort goes, I have no idea. Mugwort is supposed to assist in lucidity when dreaming and is also used for psychic work to increase sensitives... but under a pillow, it'd be really hard to catch the odor of it, I think. It wouldn't hurt to try it, perhaps make a satchel and lay it next to you instead though, so the odors are still detectable... do beware though (and keep away from any animals or kids/babies) that too much of that stuff, or even just a little bit, is toxic. Honestly though, I think there are better ways to work toward remembering your dreams.
The first step (and as easy as it sounds, it's really difficult to do) when working toward lucid dreaming is to focus on not moving at all when you first wake. It's that movement that "jars" the dreams away from us- that physical, conscious gesture brings us immediately into a conscious state, and anything we might have had going on subconsciously while asleep is harder to recall. Try, when you wake tomorrow, to not move at all until your dreams from your unconscious become known, consciously. Then, write them down or recite in a tape recorder... (while running to the bathroom-- well, it is first thing in the morning, afterall.)
I think a lot of what you're talking about with your shamanic guided-dream reference is more a "dream quest" kind of thing instead of a consciously lucid dream. Those you're talking about are induced rather than just a dream where a great deal of consciousness is present, right? I don't know too much about inducing a dream state, but I bet someone here could help tell you more about it. :28:
Bright Blessings! I hope you find what you're seeking.
