Return of the Snow Shark

Postby One Walker » Thu Feb 05, 2009 6:42 pm

With the cold snap finally behind us here in Minnesota the temperature rose to almost 32 degrees today-enough to venture a trip outside under the illusion of Spring. That illusion became reality when I spotted this baby out in the river. The return of the venerable Snow Shark!:

If it's any consolation, I know we have at least 2 more months of snow ahead of us but today was a spirit-lifter anyway. Glad your youngster liked the shots!

Blessings and warmth to you and yours!

Ready to get jealous??? Ready????
Ok, here it comes....

It was seventy-two degrees here last week!!!!

Got to love California weather, eh?

Then again, we always want what we don't have- we did get some snow (last time we had any that stuck was in 2004) this December 17th, but it's generally reaching the high 60's or higher around here this time of year. So of course, I'm longing for the cold winter that you guys are enjoying. And I'd also like curly hair... but clearly, we can't obtain what we want, naturally speaking.

Your snow shark cracks me up, One Walker. I love it!!

Where do you live, if you don't mind my asking, Silver Dove? (Your location isn't under your username area.) Deep freeze, you say... hmmmm. :28: Want some windy, sunny hotness? I'd box it up and send it away if I could. :P *giggles* (Especially during summer- gets around 115 degrees!) -Bleagh!

~Blessings to you both!~

Seventy-two degrees, eh? I'll be sending you that temp back in about 3 months! Seriously, I do love California weather when I'm out visiting over Christmas. I get a real charge out of everyone wearing jackets and heavy coats though.

I bet... and yes, we do don our parkas, hats and gloves at the first sign of a breeze. Once it hits 50, we're freezing. LOL

I have a friend who grew up in MN- he's told me about your winters... and a high school friend of mine currently resides there too: poor thing is always getting snowed in. I'm actually rather jealous, myself. I don't like hot weather, I hate California's laws and regulations, and other than my family and obligations, (and the beach)... there's not much keeping us here. *Sigh* ...maybe someday. :28: (Though I'd never consider leaving the state while my grandparents are still with me on this earth: they are the most wonderful people and are only an hour and a half drive away... I'd happily put up with anything here to remain close and continue enjoying them for as long as I am able.)

Eh... for now, I'm content. But I think I need to go get my slippers & sweater on- it's down to 40 outside.

Well, it's a sunny 33 degrees right now some I'm fixing to head out into the wild to suck up some positive waves and enjoy this beautiful, warm weather! In all fairness, I've been drawn to California too. My mother lives in Santa Barbara and she's constantly urging me to move out by her/with her. So far I've resisted and the brush fires, earthquakes, landslides, incredibly high prices, and lack of gainful employment options have helped! I'd like to be closer to her though and we've talked about moving to Arizona together but it would be awfully tough for me to give up this place. I really love where I'm living now and Minnesota has just about everything I could ever want except mountains.

Blessed Day to you!
