I'm just curious about what you have to say about it. Keep in mind that I'm not talking about the scientific perspective (scientists aren't sure why we dream, although they assume it's our brains' way of sorting out information from the day).
Putting all the scientific facts and theories aside for now. Do you guys think that dreams are messages from the Divine, our subconscious, our past lives, loved ones who have passed on? Why do you think we dream?

Well, I do believe that there is another plane, one that we can't see with our naked eyes (though if you're sensitive enough or if you use some sort of divination, you can see it with your third eye). The astral plane, I guess you could say, so that makes sense.maybe as you said its a connection between us and the divine or maybe they are messages our guides send to us...maybe its a trip to another dimension who knows?
I am not sure why we dream...but try this...next time you are dreaming focus on looking down at your hands. It may take you a few times to be able to do it and retain the memory.
The next step is to use your dream body to find your sleeping body.
To acheive this will take some focus and more than likely time.
I got to where I could find my hands and it was really trippy feeling so I did not want to push it anymore...had not thought about it till now.

I believe the scientific approach completely. I think 90% or more of dreams can be linked to events in daily life, thereby proving they are a way of sorting information and working out problems. Science has also shown that when given a new task to learn, those that dream of it the night after will perform a lot better when tested on it the next day. Again strongly suggesting that the brain organises information and works out problems.
I believe it is possible for dreams to be influenced by the spiritual realms but i think almost all dreams are just a way of sorting information and testing out situations that may or may not occur in waking life, but testing them in a safe controlled way via a dream) I think it is possible to receive messages as you are highly suggestive but to say that every dream is created, designed and sent by some spiritual entity, or involves leaving the body and going somewhere else is just wrong. Some dreams, perhaps. But certainly not all.

I wasn't talking about doing astral projection or lucid dreaming. I was just asking why you guys think we dream.I am not sure why we dream...but try this...next time you are dreaming focus on looking down at your hands. It may take you a few times to be able to do it and retain the memory.
