Does anyone know if this is a goddess?

Postby InHonorOfHecate » Mon Jun 28, 2010 1:39 pm

I had this dream once when i was starting out in Wicca.
I was in this dimly lit, black-painted room. I was sitting on a couch. Suddenly I look over and see this woman; and I was sitting on her lap. Anytime I focused on her she started to fade away. She said something, but I am still not sure what she said because I can never remember but I think it was a warning. She was wearing nothing except a gold necklace which hung over her chest and a gold waistband that hid her...you know...and she had arrows in a basket thing(i forget wut its called) on her back. Oh, and her skin was a deep blue color and her hair was black. Does anyone know if this woman is a goddess?

How many arms did she have?

I was thinking Hindu, but she had only two arms.

Yeah, I was thinking Kali. She matches your description almost perfectly... I mean who is to say she cannot change the number of arms she has? Being a Goddess, she can do whatever she pleases, I would say. XD

I believe it to be Krishna. Krishna matches the description more than Kali does.

Krishna is a God not a Goddess, InHonorofHecate said that this deity was a woman.

Kali can be seen as a blue skinned, dark blue skinned, or black skinned.

However I'm still researching this because the gold necklace and waist band garments are throwing me off also Kali is not typically seen with arrows... in my search I've found Neith, who is an Egyptian Goddess and seems to fit the description better.

More Info with a picture of Neith depicted as having blue skin and black hair.

Okay, Ill admit that I'm wrong. Yeah, Krishna is a god. He looks feminine in pictures, and my info was apparently very wrong. Sorry about that. It just Kali is such a warlike Goddess, I didn't realise that she was a triple Goddess, having a soft, motherlike aspect to her. Sorry for the wrong info. Thank you for clearing that up...
I'll admit that I know nothing of Hindu Gods and Goddess.
Sorry again, all.

Its ok Ravencry, I understand when seeing an image of a deity in research they can confuse you especially Hindu ones because of how they are portrayed artistically.

You are correct in finding that Kali has more than one aspect, there are several forms she takes including Mother Goddess.
