Divination Deities

Postby Zili » Tue Aug 10, 2010 8:09 pm

Can anyone give me a list of Gods and Goddesses that are associated with divination, especially tarot? Now that I've found my focus I'd like to know the different Deities associated with it.

Odin would have more of a connection with runes, he is the one who brought them into this world.

But mostly any crone or sage helps with divination, though I am not sure about tarot.

My brother used to feel a closeness to Odin and would read runes he long longer does. I tried runes myself and didn't get good results.

I'm gifted with the art of divination, originally in the form of dreams after being frightened by one when I was 5 years old I asked that they be taken away until I could handle them. Recently I've started dreaming again but I have a hard time remembering them when I am awake, I started using tarot and oracle cards 3 years ago and have done well with them, which is why I had asked about a deity associated with tarot. I don't know how well I am gifted with other forms of divination as I've not had the opportunity to find out.

I was blessed with other gifts, but ones that needed a lot more work to maintain, card reading and dream interpretation are like second nature to me.

Runes can be a difficult form to learn and try to master. For me, this is what I perfer. I can read tarot but not as well as Runes. There are major differences in these two forms, normally if you excel in one you will not in the other.

I realised that. I used to be good with runes, they would tell me accurately what the situation is and the best advice to with. Then I started to study the Tarot. Now that I am decent with Tarot, I can't give a rune reading worth a darn. Though I would love to be proficient in both, I honestly don't see it happening. :(

Would all the ones mentioned work for Oneiromancy as well?

Oneiromancy is the practice of Divination through dreams.
