The Greek God, Eros

Postby ScarlettRose » Fri May 28, 2010 6:26 pm

Would Eros be a good God to call upon during love spells? Or calling upon him for love to come into your life??
Any thoughts?
Breathing in I feel gratitude; Breathing out I give thanks.
Breathing in I feel joyful; Breathing out I celebrate.
Breathing in I know compassion; Breathing I am compassion.
Breathing in I feel loved; Breathing out I offer love.
Breathing in I am still; Breathing out I am at peace.
Om.

Well, i think that Aphrodite is a better idea. Besides she is Eros mother!
Eros on the other hand is more sensitive , and Aphrodite is more strong willed, and a bit stubborn!

There are two versions of Eros. The first is the ancient Greek deity of procreation. The second is the love-smitten son of Aphrodite,"he who lighted the flame of love in the hearts of the gods and men". If you're wanting a God of love, I would recommend Eros the second.

Eros is a more ancient Greek God of fertility, while Aphrodite is probably an import from the East- many believe she is a version of the Goddess Ishtar

Eros is a perfect choice to use for a love spell, as he is a god of love, you could also use Venus, Aphrodite or Cupid.

Eros is a Greek God, his Roman copy is Venus. He's a familiar sight to Londoners by the way, his statue stands in Piccadilly Circus, very much the center of London.
Love spells need to be treated with caution...aim them at an individual and you are interfering with someones life, also the adage be careful what you wish for comes to the fore, if the person you crave turns out to be incompatible you could find yourself stuck with a problem.
Better you work to have love find it's way into your life generally, even if you end up with a dog!
Aphrodite is my idea of a better choice here.
As a young soldier in 1973 I spent a week camping next to the rock in Cyprus where she was born in the sea foam, I've even done a painting of the place....http://www.seawitchartist.com/homeofaphroditi.htm
Think a moment...the word Aphrodisiac ...no prizes for guessing where that come from!
Copper is associated in magick with love spells, to attract it to your life, or more dubiously, to strengthen bonds. Cyprus, (or more originally kypros) Aphrodite's birthplace means....Copper. Se the association's gathering?
Anyway, tread carefully doing love spells!

Eros is my favorite god and the only one I actually like out of all of the gods. He is sensitive and sexual. He is good only with passion and sexual love. He'll make you fall addicted to the person, and this is good. It is a combination of lust and when the addiction takes place - romance is born. He is bisexual so I think he can help you with any type of love magic.

Oh, therapy, can you please fill the void?
Am I retarded or am I just overjoyed?
Nobody's perfect and I stand accused
For lack of a better word, and that's my best excuse
