why arent you supposed to use spells all the time?

Just throwing my opinion in on the conversation that has been going on...

In a way I agree with what many have already said; that it's not really "honoring" your gods if you keep bugging them with all your little problems and begging for spells to fix everything. But then again I'd say whether or not to use spells that often depends on what a spell is to you and where it comes from. If it comes from your gods - if for every spell you do, you are working with other beings and asking the help of gods/spirits/etc., then yes, you should avoid doing it unless it's really needed. It's just proper respect, I believe.

But then there's people like me. I use my spells exactly as often as I please, because my spells come from me and my own knowledge, and only that. Not from my gods, not from spirits, not from other beings. It's only me that I rely on when doing a spell, so why on earth would I not use a spell when I wish to? It counts as practice, if nothing else, and I assure you I'm not bothering anyone else with my troubles. I could even suggest using spells as often as you feel like! Don't let your skills get rusty. : P

So there indeed are more than one side to answer from.
