How to make runes?

I have heard about runes, and I would like to make some. Bu tI dont really know what they are, or how/what to use/do with them! So, I would like to know how to make them, and then what to do with them afterwards.

Here is the simple way to explain: Runes are for divination and are similar to using a pendulum, tarot cards or scrying. Runes are usually based on viking (Norse) symbols. There are threads on here about them. As for creating some, runes are generally smooth round flat stones with the symbols carved into them.
