So the first time I made an offering to Thoth I offered Assam tea with honey. And upon presenting it and my prayer I felt the word "partake" and so I took a sip. And I would go back whenever I got the strong feeling to drink again and sip the tea again. It was a pretty awesome experience.
However a few days ago I offered a piece of chocolate cake. It was a treat for me so I thought I would offer it to Thoth. I was only going to leave it there for the day and then move it outside so it wouldn't get bugs or anything but everytime I moved or even looked over at the altar, thinking to move it, I would get a strong feeling of disapproval. Like I was not supposed to do that.
Apparently Thoth likes chocolate cake. xD He didn't even share with me.
I just wanted to share that, I thought it was amusing.

Re: Chocolate Cake
This is a great story.
It reminds e of the time I picked wild blackberries when I was camping. I ate a few right off the bush and they were so much sweeter and more delicious than the store-bought ones are. I wanted to freeze them and bring the to my mom to make a cobbler, but something made me bury most of them at my outside altar, for Freyja. She practically gorged on them. It was kind of shocking. Since then whenever I go to that place in the woods to pick blackberries (they are still abundant, and will be for another month at least) I leave a portion on the hilltop for Freyja.
Anyway, I guess I'm saying I really get it. Some Deities really love certain offerings! It's good to keep that in mind.

I found an old, Greek recipe for Honey cake. I offered a few pieces to Hecate and left them at the very edge of the woods outside of my backyard. Next morning they were gone! I'm glad she liked them. ^^

Re: Chocolate Cake
From my research I found that honey, almonds, hazel and walnuts (specifically walnut trees so I'm going to assume it extends to the nuts too) are sacred to her. I'm planning to give her an offering on the Full Moon along with Selene. I have a recipe for vegan almond cookies with jam (you'll notice a patter of baking with me quickly) so I'm thinking to shape them like moons (both full and crescent) as an offering.hey Night what do you usually use for Artemis im thinking of doing something but would love to know what you think she enjoys
