Hi there,
I've been practicing Wicca for two years and would love to begin teaching over Skype. Is anyone interested? I probably won't be able to handle too many people at once, so the first few people to tell me they're interested will get lessons.
I'd prefer people in the U.S so we can work out time zone properly, but if you're not, we can definately work something out.
I'm available from 10:00 am to 12:00 and then from 5:30 to 6:30 central time, though that one may be cut short. Also, tell me how long you want your class to be. No more than one hour please.
Blessed be.

Your young right? Shouldn't you be seeking a teacher? Just sayin
in most traditions one studies at least 3 to 5 years,
In fact some groups require you to be 18 before you can commit to this path.

It's been over three years of study for me. Yes, I'm young, but I know what I'm doing. I'm noy a complete idiot just because not an adult.

What do you have in mind to teach? What sort of class progression do you have in mind?

Hm, I don't think it's a bad idea in general. There are many young girls interested in magick and Wicca and I bet they'd prefer to learn all the base stuff with help of someone who learned the basics already.
It's a personal decision, if you feel ready to teach people we can't really question that. Maybe you'll learn a lot more about yourself in the process and that's exactly what you need right now to move on.
Anyway, Electra, if you want to find people to teach them, I'd suggest presenting some kind of list of things that you can teach about - I guess people would prefer to know what's your field of expertise.
But please keep in mind that becoming a mentor is a great responsibility. If you decide to teach someone you're the one who's responsible for that person's growth. So be careful, humble and respectful. I know what it's like to be quite new to the craft (2-3 years is not enough to be the master of your mind) and feeling wise and full of power. I've got almost 10 years of experience and I wouldn't dare to be someone's mentor
I'm not questioning your abilities or anything, just asking you to be extra careful, for your own sake.
Good luck!

I don't mean to come off as a creeper or anything, but like I said I did scroll through your post history the other day to better understand one of your other threads... and just a year ago you were saying you haven't done much with witchcraft, and were still just learning and asking questions about some of the basic ideas and beliefs, and getting into the basic practices... You may have been studying for a bit longer, but you have less than a year's worth of experience when it comes to many of the core practices. Wicca is a religion that is very heavily focused on practice, and as others have said usually someone goes through a minimum of three years of dedicated practice before they go on to teach, and usually they spend some time learning teaching in particular. It's been over three years of study for me. Yes, I'm young, but I know what I'm doing. I'm noy a complete idiot just because not an adult.
I certainly don't think you're a complete idiot, and your age doesn't factor into this, but I do think you're rushing into a position that most people take many years to get to... If you were 20, or 40 with the same exact experience, I'd have the same concerns. It's great that you want to help people, but I think there might be more appropriate ways for someone of your experience to do that. Maybe instead of set lessons, you could organize a group study, or something like that. You could certainly still include and help those who are brand new to Wicca, but if you had a few other people with around the same experience, you'd have a lot more perspectives to add detail and fill in any gaps.

Instead of actively teaching, why don't you make beginner videos for youtube. That way you can address all the questions you had starting out and explain them in a way that helped you understand. I'm not trying to rain on your parade, I've been a witch for nine years and wouldn't take on a student-let alone multiple ones. If you feel confident in your abilities- go for it. However I do think starting small would benefit you, so you don't get overwhelmed.Hi there,

I don't know what I was thinking, I didn't realize it would be such a responsibility. I was just looking for something to pass the time. I think I'll stick to YouTube. I've been so immature lately, it's not even funny.

Admitting your idea wasn't the best is quite the opposite of being immature. Hang in there.I don't know what I was thinking, I didn't realize it would be such a responsibility.
