Merry Meet,

Can anyone suggest a good Dream Dictionary or Index? I've been having some very strange dreams lately and am having trouble figuring out their meanings.

Thank you :D

If I'm stumped by a dream, I generally go to google and type in something like "<symbol/concept> symbolism in dreams."

Then again, I dislike paying for things I can get for free anyway. Dreams are largely dependent on your own personal associations with different things, so don't forget to take the time to meditate on what those specific situations/symbols mean to you as well.

I usually go to http://www.dreammoods.com they have a large dictionary I've never had a dream that I couldn't find on their list! Also it is a free site.

If you did want to go the route of owning books, let me know and I can check the two I have. I'm unfortunately at my parents house for the weekend due to injury, so I don't have them here.

Thank you for your help! I have used dreammoods.com in the past but these dreams were so out there I didn't even know where to start. I'm still trying to decipher them and know that one is a hidden fear most at my work have (I work at a zoo and it had to do with animals escaping). The other involved a bunch of random activities to end with me being shot twice in the chest and then waking up in a hospital, thinking I was still myself, only to quickly discover that I was a doctor in the hospital who had not been shot. Like I said strange dreams. I am trying to work on the hidden meanings and thank you (again) for your willingness to help.

Blessed be!

I have a book I like pretty well, she really looks at the symbols as nearly literal.
2 entries I do not agree with is her interpretation of witch and pagan, she may be coming from some sort of christian bent.
Anyways...it's called " the Dream Book...Symbols for self-understanding ", by Betty Bethards
