Hi. My name is Vin.

Postby Teeitupmo » Sat Dec 27, 2014 12:18 pm

Hello. My name is Vin, short for Vincent. I am in divorced and in my forties. I have been lurking around this forum for awhile now, decided to join so I participate in certain conversations.

Forgive me in advance if I use the incorrect term or wording, I am new and want to explore the Wicca religion.

Something happened to me when I was a child that has always fascinated me to this day.

I was about 8-10yo, I was getting ready to take a shower (just tighty whities on) as my brother was getting out of the shower. We had an old school steam heater next to the shower, as I was stepping into the shower my brother pushed me and I slipped on water. My back fell directly on the steam heater. My entire back was very badly burned.

For months afterwards, I would wake up every night crying in pain, screaming, with awful nightmares. This happened every night and would not get better.

Finally, my mother told me, son.. I want to take you to "la bruja," she will help you to get rid of this pain and nightmares. As a kid, I assumed "la bruja" was just another doctor. As a teenager, I learned "la bruja" was Spanish for witch.

We visited the "la bruja," she sat me down in a chair, lit candles in a circle around the chair. Lit incense and made circles around my head with the smoking incense, while saying words i could not understand. This continued for awhile, don't remember the length.

When finished, she told my mom... Your son will be fine and he won't have anymore overnight pain or nightmares.

The "la bruja" was correct, as far as i remember, i never had anymore nightmares and I did not wakeup screaming in pain.

My story, is why I have been very interested in Wicca since I was. Teenager. What do you guys think "la bruja" did to rid me of the pain and nightmares?

Recently, I found a book at a garage sale called "Everything about Wicca." Are tbere there other books that are better for someone that is interested and wants to get started with Wicca?

Welcome! Very interesting story! I'm not Wiccan so I can't help you with book suggestions. But I hope you find answers here!
