I'm here... not getting much time to poke around here lately. Ugh! Dealing with a lot of personal things, accepting aspects of myself and figuring how what they mean for the future, etc. Throw in a lot of work for derby and my board of directors position (and heading into a crazy-busy part of our season). Feel like I don't even get enough time to focus on exploring my craft. Sigh... trying to make time, so here I am, haha!

Hi there! Just noticed this thread now haha. I've been on and off a lot now since I'm in the broom closet, so since I can't post too often(and disappear for awhile before coming back), please know that this is because of fear from my mother finding out v__v (I'm 19 so I know this is silly but I'm desperate here).
I have limited sources, and honestly the only way I'm learning and growing is BECAUSE of this forum-in fact, this is the only forum that I have joined and been this active at all xD
So yeah, I'm mainly lurking but I do make posts from time to time

Lurk as you will, post when you wish, and keep moving forward. We have all sorts of types floating in and out. It can be a sticky situation trying to keep something so crucial to your identity a secret from the people who are close to you, but it gets easier as time goes by.

Parents can sometimes just be scary. It happens, it's definitely a thing. I know a lot of people who never "came out" but simply stopped hiding it. Just to see what would happen. The idea was that it beat putting something so vulnerable of theirs out on the line to be stomped on and rejected by those closest to them.

Oh definitely a great place. My bf and I were living with my mum when I first started on the path. This was the first site I joined, and it helped a lot. My mum and I are close, but religion is not a topic for us. It's never been. I don't necessarily hide it, I just don't shout about it. Lucky I live in another state now, so I can be more open. Also, she'd probably go telling everyone...crying her baby is going to hell. Sigh. I love her, but she tends to rant to people when I do something that she considers a big deal, that she doesn't agree with.
