Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same experience. A very few times in my life - not often though - I have had what feels like sleep paralysis, where you sort of wake up but can't move your body, and you see things that might not be there. Usually when this happens, the most prominent thing is feeling a weight on the bed next to me, like someone sitting or lying down beside me.
A few nights ago, I had the sensation of someone putting a child next to me on the bed. A little girl, about four years old. I opened my eyes and saw a man standing in my bedroom doorway. He was all white, like a ghost, and was wearing a pinstripe three piece suit and a fedora, like something from the 1940s. He didn't quite look like a normal person - his lines were elongated, if that makes sense.
Then the following night I had a similar "dream" - where I felt a weight on the bed next to me, like someone lying down. I felt afraid at first, but then I "realized" it was just my college boyfriend, who died ten years ago. I couldn't see him, just feel him next to me. I "said" to him in my mind "it's okay, you can stay here a while, just lie down and be quiet so I can sleep." And then I "went back to sleep" or the dream went away.
Any thoughts?

Yes ive had this happen as well. But mine is always during the day, not at night. Some people try to talk to them and some people just get so scared out of their wits that they refuse to go to bed the next few nights. Some people sage their houses cause they think theyre evil entities but if you got the impression that they werent there to harm you then i wouldnt worry. Good luck and just go based on your feelings.

I have has this feeling but it's more like the weight is on top of me. Here's an example: I'm asleep and I'm aware that I'm asleep and that I'm dreaming. I decide I want to wake up but I can't. It's like not matter what I cannot open my eyes. Then when I try to sit up, because if I sit up, surely my eyes will open and I will wake up, and I feel someone holding me down by my shoulders. I'm not sure who it would be holding me down, but I've definitely felt this before.

Yep that's how it happens. Sleep paralysis. They spew it almost perfectly in the movie Exorcism of Emily Rose.

Hmmm... So graveghoul, who would you think is holding us down in our sleep or causing this paralysis? I recently had this happen to me when I was napping during the day, something I haven't done in years. I was in my bedroom which my fiancé and I had recently smudged, and we are the first inhabitants of the home. Since we smudged to remove and negative energies, memories, and entities, I would assume whatever it was holding me down was not negative? Thanks ahead of time for any responses!

I do not very often so I wouldn't know much about it. When I do sleep, a wave of emotions flow over me, causing me to cry or punch things. Often, I would sit up or roll over and punch with so much power I never realized I had. Causing holes in walls, glass broken, and bruises/abrasions. Thankfully, it doesn't happen when I have someone in my bed. As for the crying, I can have the most beautiful dreams or the worst, either way, I would be drenched in tears, my bed and blankets drenched in tears. I haven't met a single soul who had encountered the same things as I have. Maybe the two problems, yours and mine, are connected..? Something to look into, I guess.

Sometimes when we sleep we have a very intimate connection to the spirit dimension. It can range from scary to wonderful.

I think maybe I have a malevolent spirit attached to me which would explain why I am flooded with emotions. I am an Empath after all but the question is, if it's true, why me.. Also I have been practicing astro projection so you may just as well be right

It is possible that it's a subconscious something-or-other that is trying to get your attention. Unresolved internal conflicts and the like.
That's usually the cause of my emotionally-charged dreaming.

I don't really have any unresolved conflicts. But you could be right, I dream of saving people of different countries a lot when I cry and I dream of demons and snakes a lot when I punch. Especially a dream I have every so often of the Grim Reaper and snakes all in one dream. Although those dreams with the Grim Reaper and snakes, there is a snake on my side helping me and the Grim Reaper seems to be in a competition against me. But I don't just punch to those dreams, I punch to some good dreams too. This is so difficult to understand for me..

Pent up frustrations maybe, about wanting to do something but not knowing how to achieve it?
Meditating on it may be of use.
