What do you do when the gods have called you

Postby mangosandy82 » Mon Dec 07, 2015 4:00 pm

Do I do a ritual to let them know I have answered them?

I've never done a ritual in those cases. I usually just do more like a face palm, because I finally realized what was going on. I guess that could be considered a spontaneous ritual.

I usually gather more research about them
You may call me Valerian Moon, or simply Val.

I've found the gods to usually be a couple steps ahead of me already, so generally I just acknowledge out loud that I've done as asked. Sometimes I do a divination ritual to make sure I got the message right, or leave a favored beverage out for them and the local land wights to enjoy as a dual thank you/got it.
Dance like the Maiden
Laugh like the Mother
Think like the Crone

You return the call. Either ritual or meditation should do the trick.
By the prickling of my thumbs,
something Wiccan this way comes!

Could I ask a quick question so I can follow this thread? What constitutes as a god "calling" you? Thanks!

I think that's individual and subjective. When Bast called me, I was at Alameda East Animal Hospital with a critically I'll cat. Bast appeared to me, and told me that she wast calling Blanca home.

I finally realized that I love the night time and thought it was Nyx. I just thought it clicked. I love staying up late and gazing at the night sky. I get most of my inspiration at night. I also love to hang out in cemeteries and thought about Anubis. I am drawn to cemeteries. Doesn't matter if it's big or small new or old. I like exploring them and seeing if I feel any spirits. Which I do most of the time.

How do the gods speak to you?

I really feel silly for asking now. Your answers are what I could have guessed. Signs, appearances, and associations. I wrote in my blog recently that I felt Jesus was "calling" me. Basically, trying to get my attention. But, more recently, all my meditations have been pointing me towards Sumarian gods, Annunaki. Still trying to decide if I think they are gods or aliens though, lol..

As far as how do the gods talk to me, I believe that I get messages through the radio sometimes. The messages are in the lyrics that fit what ever looming question is on my mind. I also have heard angels talk to me, but I heard it in my head. I can distinguish their different voices, but I only know 2 of their names. And, of course through meditation & dreams, but I find those messages harder to decipher..

Very interesting. Sometimes I stop and listen to nature and see what nature is telling me. Like the running of the squirrels could mean running to your destination and not stopping no matter what. Nature speaks to me like that some times. The other day I was admiring the clouds and they spoke to me. No matter what situation you're in you can always rise above your problems. Does nature speak to you that way?

Not exactly in the same way... Although I am a Taurus and an Earth sign, I feel very connected to water. When I'm swimming I just feel at home! I move better on water than on land. On land in awkward and clumsy. But in the water I glide easily in any direction. I'm just naturally good at swimming I've noticed in my life. And, I have a very strong connection with animals. I've started trying to "read" birds as signs when they fly by. I do this very similar to the example you gave of the squirrels. I do plan to start a garden this spring to try to strengthen my relationship with the earth element.
