A bit of both I think. I was confused because I didn't understand what he meant by what he said. And he wasn't communicating clearly. He was trying to talk in riddles I suppose haha. If he had told me what he meant from the beginning, I doubt I would have fried my brain over this.

Coming back to this...you have really been on my mind. Could it be, that when he asked if you truly know yourself, that he is asking you to describe your Soul? That is why describing yourself in terms of thoughts, beliefs, experiences and goals does not satisfy him. These things are not the soul. How many seekers and spiritually wandering people can describe their own souls? That is a tough assignment.

In my opinion:
I agree that finding yourself is very important. But everyone goes about it a different way. It sounds as if he believes his way is the only way, and he has taken it upon himself to be your teacher and mentor. It may be his only way but doesn't much sound like it's yours.
It concerns me that his direction has you doubting yourself and that meeting him drained you. Those are big red flags. Although it sounds like you are handling yourself very well around him.
What you said about just focusing on the question is the best thing you can do

Well, in my opinion the soul is still related to all of the above. I only do things I feel spiritually connected with, things that "call" to me. He told me the celts wouldn't accept my beliefs, yet I feel connected to them anyway. I always have, my whole life. Until recently I learned why, my family has roots in Ireland somewhere in our bloodline. But I never knew that, and the connection was long before that. So that's a part of my soul in my eyes.

I feel very fulfilled and happy on my path, even though it's still growing. Deeply happy. It makes my heart sing just thinking about it. So my soul much appreciates what I do then.

This was told to me by my friend, who's been on her path for a long time, and her husband for an even longer one. This is just 2 days after this whole affair. And since reading it, I don't doubt myself anymore. This is a sign as clear as day to me.
