Dream pillows - correct herb choices

Postby Zombiedaisy » Thu Jun 23, 2016 5:09 am

Tomorrow my daughter and I are going to make a few dream pillows. I've never made them before but have been researching them all day and had a few questions maybe someone more experienced could answer.

The intent for each pillow is different. I just want to make sure I'm getting my herbs right for each because I've seen so many different ones.

My daughters is to help deter nightmares. I was thinking chamomile, Rosemary and lavender... Possibly rose petals from her roses in our garden as well? Would writing an a bay leaf be appropriate to stick inside hers as well?

My husband can never recall his dreams but I'm not sure what a good combination for his would be? Any suggestions? I'm thinking lavender mugwort, peppermint, rose petals and rosemary.

And lastly I'm hoping to get a message to someone through a dream. I'm not entirely sure on a good blend for this one. Lava der, Rosemary, mugwort and peppermint possibly?

Here's a list I found that seemed to sit well with me through my searches.

Catnip: Relaxing, helps bring deep sleep.
Chamomile: Calming, relaxing, and said to keep bad dreams away.
Cloves: Brings warmth and an exotic feeling to dreams, add only 2-4 per pillow.
Hops: Relaxing and brings peacefulness.
Lavender: Soothing, relaxing and eases headaches.
Lemon Verbena: Uplifting, used to add “lightness” to dream blends.
Mugwort: Greatly enhances lucid dreaming and helps with remembering of dreams.
Peppermint or Spearmint: Enhances clarity and vividness in dreams.
Rose petals: Brings warmth and love, may be used to evoke romantic dreams.
Rosemary: Traditionally used to bring deep sleep and keep away bad dreams

Thank you!

Many blessings

I've never made dream pillows, so I can't help, If I want to keep nightmares away, or bring on lucid dreams, I use crystals, or certain oils or both at the same time, I usually fall asleep while holding the crystal in my hand, this tends to work for me, although I may start researching about dream pillows now. :)

Lemon grass and jasmine flowers would be good in a prophetic dream pillow too.
Rosemary being for memory may best be left out of daughters pillow...
Those are real cute :D

Come and taste of the cauldron's brew and magic she will give to you

They look amazing! I know its not a herb but maybe slip some chrysoprase into your daughters dream pilllow- great for detering nightmares.

Bay Laurel and Nutmeg are also effective herbs for such magic and have similar effects to that of Mugwort. All three were once used ceremonially by native Americans to produce visions through smoking the herbs and other means.

Anise seeds are also great for a dream pillow since they protect from nightmares, its scent is strong an stimulating but if you combine it with chamomille and lavender it balances perfecly. Additionally a blue bead sewn on the dream pillow will protect from negative energy and the evil eye,
Blessed be by Hecate!

Thanks for posting this! I struggle a lot with nightmares, and I'm going to look into making a dream pillow for myself :)

I like Damiana and Eyebright along with chamomile, bay laurel and anise seeds
