Translating Across Pantheons?

So, I'm fairly new to gemstones and crystals when it comes to anything more than admiring their beauty and I've only recently begun to do research into their correspondences, uses, etc. and I had a question I wasn't seeing an answer for anywhere. So I've read that a corresponding goddess of amethyst is Artemis, and she is a counterpart of Bast, so I was wondering if that would mean that Bast also fits with amethyst? Or do stones and such not translate across pantheons?

You can always ask a deity about preferred stones. What we think is correct, might not be what they actually want.
