It's nice to finally find a place to discuss witchcraft! Hi, I'm Spencer, and for the past month I've been doing research on various topics (because to me, knowledge is power) and I stumbled upon something called pagan witchcraft. I began taking notes every day, even pulling all-nighters to find out what made it so appealing to me only to realize that what most of you people believe in really, REALLY resonates with me. A while ago I was atheist living in a family of baptist christians, to me, all that was there was rules and things I didn't believe in getting shoved in my face every Sunday, and I don't understand how people live being surrounded by that. That's why I'm researching as much as I can ( without doing myself any bodily harm) to learn more about Wicca. I've started a book of shadows and blessed it, I just need set of other tools I need at a good price! So if you have time, please drop me some advice with a Personal message or in the thread.

Nice to meet you! Here's my story.
I'm just a nerd that plays tabletop games, plays the electric bass, and wishes that he wasn't as much of a nerd!

Hi Gubbinz, I've been Wiccan for a few years now and am still collecting all my tools. What I've found is if you start small, with something that really interests you and then over time find the things that fit your needs rather than just running out and buying a bunch of stuff all at once that you may not need for a while. And also in the meantime a bunch of stuff you already have can be used in place of some tools. Birthday candles are easy to find, they are in every color imaginable and they are pretty cheap. Go outside and forage for things if you have that knowledge. Its all about what feels right for you. Good luck on your journey!

Hi ho & welcome. There's a sub section topic just for tools. It may be of interest. Don't let lack of stuff hold you back.
To learn on, you need something to hold and store energy so use any palm or fist-size rock. It will teach you to sense energies. You need something for safe burning or to hold offerings, so use a bowl. And you move energy, so use your finger, a pocket knife or a nice stick you find. From these humble beginnings you can make an altar and learn to do magic... or you can get fancy, store bought, criminally expensive stuff that you have no personal connection to and do the same things.
just have fun.

I had time so I made a wand (wish I had a varnish to make it look sexy) and took inventory of my stones! ( I have clear quartz and banded amethyst)Hi ho & welcome. There's a sub section topic just for tools. It may be of interest. Don't let lack of stuff hold you back.

I've used a bees wax hair dressing used for Afro-do's. Laugh if you must, but it worked well. It sealed the wood, polished to a semi-gloss shine, and washed off my hands with soap and water.
