Mythological beings

Are all beings that have ever been noted real? I understand it's a broad spectrum question that could be easily debated, just want to get a better understanding of the world. For instance are werewolves real? Even if it's on another plane of existence do they exist?

It depends for me. So it can be hit or miss. Some legends seem to be almost entirely metaphoric. While others are a mix. Still some stories are based on misunderstandings that we have now solved with science.

Do they exist? i cannot say. Humans always have different versions and accounts, too. Even if they do not have a literal independent existence, they do exist in the human mind and thus maybe exist in the realm of ideas. (Dream worlds.)

If they have not existed physically, then they definitely exist in the spirit realms. My brother has a Gryphon as his spirit animal. I used to talk to it too.

Interesting idea about them existing in the dream world. That's kinda a part of my theory that arose with tulpamancy (sorry for wrong spelling) that things exist because our minds have created them because magic is directed by our thoughts and they have become their own entities.

I can get my head around an idea of multiple realities like a holo-deck. Focussing our consciousness is like running the holo-deck program. When the program isn't running, where do the concepts and images go? The dream-state is a holo-deck.

I think the "realness" of them varies from person to person- even if they simple exist in our dream worlds or in the place we go when we meditate.
I like to think of it the way Dumbledore put it to Harry when he died, “Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”
If these creatures exist in your mind, then why shouldn't they be real to you?

Whether or not the exist in the physical world? Who knows.

This discussion reminds me of a Children's Book I read a while ago.
It was about Magical Creatures, Mythological ones.

I will go back to the library and see if I can find it again.
There is a pretty long time since I've read it, but the memory is so alive like it was yesterday. They wrote about dragons, cats, bats and all sorts of mystical creatures in that book. It was big, white with bright colors and pretty fonts.

When I'll find it I'll share it with you guys.

Maybe certain aspects of consciousness resemble a holo-deck, but I think there's more to it. For example, I think the 'program' never stops running.

For example, while I'm thinking about pyramids, you're all thinking about werewolves and other mythological creatures.

Our Gods and Goddesses are not on our plane so they also
are on that plane, correct ?
There's always truths in legends, hard to tell tho how
much of it is true ?
I saw a book on Amazon about creating a "thing"
a mystical creature to do your bidding. I'll have

I think I learned that in a book by the deceased Very Stanley Alder called The Finding of the Third Eye.

I'll echo the sentiment that while it's doubtful that many (if any) mythological creatures exist or have existed on the physical plane, they certain exist as astral and/or spiritual entities, and can thus be interacted with by contacting the appropriate planes (through astral projection, trancework/shamanic journeying, etc).

You use werewolves as an example, though, and I'd like to point out that lycanthropy (the ability to transform into a wolf), and indeed other forms of therianthropy (the ability to transform into an animal) as well, probably have their roots in shamanic shapeshifting magic - although again, this is more readily achieved in trancework than in a literal, physical sense (...although maybe?)

An interesting sidenote is that in 15th-17th century Europe, alongside regular witch trials, there were werewolf trials, where people were accused of lycanthropy. These trials were most prevalent in the Baltic countries - the last area of Europe to be Christianized - where Pagan belief in the ability to shapeshift persisted, and where fear of witches had a decidedly different character than more Christian parts of Europe.
