Symbols

Postby Ashrend » Fri Apr 14, 2017 3:20 pm

I've asked about this before and although it was helpful it didnt hit the nail on the head. I have posted in advanced witchcraft but think I blurred two things together too much. I want to learn symbols, like from books (as childish as that shoulds) which I can learn and use in my craft. I want to learn a grate range of symbols for alsorts of different things that could be woven together to make a greater spell. To learn symbols I would never actually use but learn anyway to know. I want a structure I can put to my magic and not have it quite so free flowing and be anything that you can imagine. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you looked into creating your own sigils? Maybe that could be useful for a place to start.

Also, I'm quite fond of the 13 witches runes. I painted them on stones :-)

There are books of magicians tables as well as dictionaries of symbols and signs. Maybe they'd serve the purpose.

I went to Amazon's books, typed in "dictionary of signs and symbols" and bunches popped up. The only one under $10 on the first of 10 pages was "Book of Symbols" by Dover Publishing. The cover showed the types of symbols it had.

Amazon's book search function is pretty good. Once you get into the books area off the front pull down menu, enter the subject, title or author. Then on the left side of the screen there are choices you can scroll and click to refine the search. Otherwise you'll be looking for hours. Maybe days.
