How do I go about making an offering to a Spiritus Loci?

In a few days I'll be taking a trip to do some crystal collecting. Normally I only collect a small amount but the crystals and minerals from this specific location are fairly valuable and I'm going to collect more than I normally would to help cover my travel and some pending home repairs for my Mother.

So, what would be the best way to thank the Spiritus Loci for a bountiful harvest of crystals?

Maybe make them something pretty or reflective as it would be you are taking the shiny pretty things from their home, you could replace it with other pretty /shiny things

I tend to leave a strand of hair or two, for what the land sacrificed you can give in kind. Though a personal made by you is also very special. Tobacco is also always an appropriate offering as are flowers.

I often get a large pack of seeds and leave a sigil offering. As my sigil of respect is a spiral I put a rough circle of seeds down and spiral it with my finger ...

I personally think libations are great -- a gift of water never goes amiss.

Here's a great article I found recently about types of offerings. I personally am striving to do more "positive impact offerings" in my life -- for instance, weeding out the invasive species in the woods behind my home.

When I arrived I knew what an appropriate offering would be, water. I've never been to a place that felt as empty and dry.
