I have trained in many different styles of martial arts yet never really considered any of them a "perfect and complete" system and yet I benefited greatly from all of them. I took the bits and pieces, from each, that got me closer to my goal because I know that when the proverbial rubber meets the road it is ME on the line, not my instructor, not some ancient master who insisted this was the only "correct" way, but ME. I'm the one who survives.... or not. I kinda get the feeling our spiritual well being is a similar deal. Just my opinion.

Truly, life's experience is what makes our philosophy. That in turn makes our view of religion.

I have taught myself a way with self defense which is eye-contact only. Analysis to analysis (like the white light did), except doing it your own way... Always in a fight one of them is not real.

We were doing what they now call MMA's in the 75th back in the early 80's. Make direct eye contact and it will tell you how your opponent will attack. Turn that against your opponent and you will win. Adapt - overcome - win. Works in any marshal arts I know of or have instructed.

To be truly at your peak performance you must be internally centered and at peace with yourself. You must be focused and at ease mentally. Physically you must be practiced and be one with your surroundings.
