Greetings!

Postby Pandemonium » Thu Oct 19, 2017 10:40 am

Hello!

I'm a beginner witch, I'm 24 years old, my name is Maria and I live in Portugal. I've been going through some rough times lately, specially wit myself, after losing both my grandparents to cancer, and overall feeling like a failure to all around me, eventually hurting all around me. No more! (or so I hope!)
I've begun bonding with my tarot deck recently and I'm slowly feeling better, trying to learn to maximise my potential, stop procrastinating in life and feel better in my skin. The cards have been speaking to me, things that I would have rolled my eyes at if someone had told it in their place (because I know they'd be right but argh!)
I must say the spiritual side of life was lacking, and I'm pretty sure that's why I felt so empty? I'm excited to start using (and perusing) this forum and talking to beginners like me, who knows even make friends :)
I'm an artist at heart and I still do not know where my path leads to, but I'm developping an (un)healthy obsession with stones, crystals, and plants. So I still don't know how to define my craft. I like the idea of mixing my art with witchcraft though.

Thanks to all who bothered to read this also <3 Can't wait to meet you all.

Greetings Gentle Being,

I'm sorry things have gone so poorly for you. Pursuing the Craft can be a great way to meet new and friendly people and change your life's course. May your path be fulfilling and your tread be sure and light.

Hello Maria. :) Sorry for your loss. I've struggled with feeling like a failure as well, it's a bit of a long journey reminding ourselves that we are enough as we are. Achievements might add richness to our lives and perhaps material value but they do not mean we are any more or less valuable as a human than anyone else.

I just posted my introduction as well. We're the same age, and I've also been bonding with my tarot deck with similar goals - I just wrote a little intention ritual for it.
That's what I love about tarot...it always shows the truth of the matter and we can't deny it lol. Which deck have you chosen?
Art and witchcraft can go together nicely I think.
I hope you like it here. :)

Hey Avalon! Thank you for your message!
Totally going to check your introduction out :) Tarot has been amazing for me this past week - and I'm intrigued at the intention ritual? What does it consist of? :D
And I've chosen The Wild Unknown, but definitely looking into another baby (I think I might be hooked) to combine them and draw from both!

I just saw your reply on my intro - yay witchy friendlings :flyingwitch:

The intention ritual just consisted of declaring my goals with the cards within ritual circle and structure. I also cleansed/consecrated them with the elements beforehand and bathed them in different incense smokes corresponding to my intention, and finally sat them on the shrine next to my altar to charge (it's a shrine to a goddess' aspect of oracle/seer which seemed appropriate). It was a nice way to bond with the cards too.

I'd written all of my goals beforehand so that I could be really clear when I did the ritual. My main goal is to use the deck to connect directly to god(dess)/Spirit/my higher self with ease and clarity, dedicating my work with the cards to this connection.

Ooh I have the Wild Unknown :). I haven't used it for readings really yet, but I use the cards as focal points on my altar. That's the problem, as well as the beauty of cards - it's easy to get hooked! What's the other deck you set your sights on?
