A question about the Lord and Lady

Postby Dr. Bonedaddy » Sun Oct 22, 2017 9:42 pm

I have a question...a little awkward...but I'd love feedback on this.

I have a great interest in Wicca but would like some honest insights on the god/goddes. Do you guys see them as real, interactive deities or as symbols for deity. Have you guys had interactions with them, visions, when you speak, pray, ask, do they respond?

I'd love to hear your experiences and learn what to expect.

No one can really tell you what to "expect" because each of us is in a different place of developing our spiritual path. any response would be geared to the individual's perception and comfort zone.

Just speaking for myself, I view all deity as one force with infinite manner of interaction, appearance, communication, and personality possibilities. All god-forms are real in their own right. IMO our brains personify the force so we can relate. Our minds are hardwired to manifest a form from a thought or concept.

To me, the Horned God is the vital flux of the Earth's energy, and the Goddess is the reflux of the same energy. In our purest energy form, all the Earth and everything within it, is one Being. This can be extended forever to include the solar system, galaxies, inter connecting dark-matter realms, so on and so forth for all that exists, and particularly for the potential to exist. But to get there I have to be in the right frame of mind and mental dimension. So when I'm not (which is most of the time), I can accept the spirit of the place and individual god-forms as separate personalities. So, yea, everything you said.

On a few occasions I have experienced what I think of as direct intervention. It takes different forms: just "knowing", GreatBigPresence crowding my space, voice in mid-air responding to a plea as well as other times within my thoughts, humorous and serious visions (who wants a deity without a sense of humor?), auditory choirs of angelic praise. And in daily life there have been enigmatic messages on billboards beside the freeway that suddenly have double meanings (indicating either a brain fart or shifting consciousness), an eagle flying directly at me to stop me in my tracks and save me from a disastrous fall off a cliff, and the "little" things and quiet moments when the tears of beauty & gratitude flow. And not to forget the obligatory face plant in the grass when the knees just buckle out from under and one knows when to bow down.

Years ago I was very much of the Lord and Lady mindset. I had some vague ideas beyond that, but nothing concrete. The night Balance died, Bast appeared to me. Had camera crews been filming, and had Bast been visible to anyone other than me, Animal Planet would have had a record breaking episode at Alameda East. As it was, Bat told me that she was calling Blanca home. Other deities have made themselves known to me since then. Currently, Anubis is the one that I am most closely allied with.

In my tradition (which is Celtic based) the Lord and Lady are viewed as part of a whole, each having their own qualities and atributes. The Lord possessing masculine ones and the Lady feminine ones but within each is a spectrum of specific traits that can be looked to for guidance, nuturance, and spiritual uplifting. They have names, personalities and stories one can explore and request help from in particular situations that is in regard to that deities specialty, all the different Gods and Goddesses are like a spectrum that is broken down from the root origin, like a rainbow that can be tracked back to "one" source, The Light.
I have received spontaneous information like SpiritTalker suggested comes from mid-air or in the guise of animal or plant messangers. We also communicate through a channel, a covener who would preform contacting or aspecting work to ask directly of one of our Deities for answers to a situation.

I see God and Goddess as both real and symbolic.

I read somewhere that Hindus believe that all the Gods and Goddesses from all the different world religions are the same divinity but are different ways of viewing the divine. This is due to people having different needs and ways of understanding the divine.

So I see the different ways of viewing the Lord and Lady as God/s Goddess/es similarly. Everyone sees them differently according to what is right for them. So I feel the best way to connect with them is trust what resonates with you.

They are very real. I have learned to feel their presences at different times in different places. When I am feeling down in need of comfort, She comes to me in quiet places, sometimes a mother, sometimes a sister, sometimes a temptress. Astoundingly beautiful and loving She brings me to peace and reason. I feel the God when I am ready to begin something difficult or when I need courage. He is a fearless, amazing ally with unlimited strength and an inspiration to be a better man. Often I see Him as a Native hunter with bow and knife. I see them in visions and hear them in the conversations of the forest.

My Goddess is Hekate, the Keeper of the Keys...among other things.
I had a different Goddess a few years ago and even tho I knew Her
name and had a picture over my alter something was missing. I didn't
pray to Her mate Osiris, I couldn't get past the brother/mate ordeal
being an incest survivor...
I met a new friend online and after a few months I felt as tho I have
known her all my life, her Goddess was Hekate. That name kept coming
up all around me, so I decided to read up on Hekate. I think I got a few
pages in and I actually felt like I was home, where I belonged. I have
since done a dedication to Hekate, when I did I had the most luscious
of body rushes. I knew She was real and She had been calling me.
I have a flag of Hekate over my alter, and a pic of Lilith also; when
I step in front of my alter at night to say my prayers I get a twinge
in my Heart Chakra, I feel this is a "hello".
Even tho I don't see a physical being in front of me, I know She is
real because I feel Her in my heart and see Her in my mind's eye.
Hope that helps !?!
Gentle Light
