nervous about new job

Postby Doe » Tue May 23, 2006 7:25 am

hi all!!,,I start a new job today and I'm a little nervous because I have'nt worked out of the house in a little more then 4 years when I left my last job to take care of my granddaughter. I did that because her father had threatened to swipe her if he could get ahold of her and we did'nt feel safe leaving her with someone outside the family for childcare.Shes now in preschool and going to kindergarten in the fall and her father is in a Georgia prison so the threat is gone ,,,,for now anyway.

Soooooo,,,,,I'm asking for a few well wishes be sent my way ,,going back into the "real world" is a little scary and I know if you all are cheering me on I can get back into the swing of things.

Thanks,
Blessed Be,
Doe

Wow, so young for a grandmother, Doe! No offense intended !

Good luck with the job :). What is it, by the way??

The 'real world' isn't that scary, really.. Just be yourself, be confident and enjoy your first day on the job :). I'll be thinking of you!

Dear Doe,
I walked out into the job market 3 years ago and I felt so insecure about it. This was after raising my children who are now in college.
Age-wise.....I can beat you by around 7 years or so.....no grandchildren yet.....
You can do this!!!! I did it. You will be amazed at what self-confidence having a job, ANY JOB can do.
Good luck to you!!!!
On your way out the door the first day, stop and look at yourself in the mirror....Say to yourself " Yes, I can do this !!!!!" and then slyly tell yourself.....there is somebody out there older than me that did it.
