well im quite new, but i have a few friends who are wiccan, and we have cast only a few spells, but i was also wondering where to begin? i know that i should be reading, but the books around here are quite expensive, and im a little short on the money if you know what i mean? but the weird thing is that i have been calling myself wiccan for like 2-3yrs, but now i can actually state that i am, because i have the supplies and everything, but i would really appreciate the help please and thank you

You don't need supplies to be Wiccan. I don't even believe you need to cast spells to be Wiccan, just my opinion. Do you have a Barnes and Noble or a bookshop that allows you to sit down and read? I know that if I don't have money to buy a book I just go to Barnes and Nobles and flip through the pags of the books and if I find one I like I write the name down. Also you could look on the internet. There are millions of sites where you can find good information. I recommend getting a notebook and looking through some sites and writing down information you find useful or interesting. It could be a nice start to your book of Shadows. Also, when I first started practicing I learned a lot about one area that I found really interesting. I chose Dream Interpretation and found it so fun to research that it got me into researching a whole bunch of different things. Hope I helped.

Please keep something in mind W-B, if you dont mind my saying so. You most certainly can be a Wiccan and not only not practice spells, but also not have a thing to work with that is store bought. (And this statement is made by a person who owns an online shop!).

Wicca is a religion - a belief system. Witchcraft on the other hand, is a practice (a Craft), not unlike the Crafts of painting, dancing, or woodworking. You dont have to be of any specific religion to practice witchcraft. I know Christians that do for example. Now, many many Wiccans DO use Witchcraft in their rituals, but there's also quite a few that do not as well. Those that get their "supplies" can either purchase them, or simply find them on treks out into the world. (You dont HAVE to have that $90.00 magic wand with the Quartz crystal on one end and the Amethyst on the other -- a nice branch from a tree willing to part with it will do just fine - just be sure to leave a nice offering for the tree in exchange!) Quartz is abundant everywhere- easy to find - and will represent Earth well on your Altar. A feather from a bird can represent the Air - a candle the Fire - and obviously a bowl or water representing Water.
The biggest thing you MUST have is INTENT. If you bring proper intent to your rituals and workings, youll will find you have much success. Magic isnt something one can buy from the store, or read in a book - its within us, and we must work to bring it out.

I have been in texas my WHOLE life. I guess its ok. Theres all sorts of stores here. And lately we have been finding alot of metaphysical stores. i guess thats the bonus of living in a big city. I have only been to the beach once, and that was a few months ago. I LOVED it. I want to go back so bad, but I have to wait till we have more money. I want to get a tent and camp out on the beach.
