Self Dedication Rite

Hi could any tell me a good self dedication rite. I tried to do 1 a few months a go but my boyfriend walked in a blew my concentration. I have read through this one since then and it doesn't seem right to me. I would really like to feel the Goddess with me and let her know how happy I am to have found. Being a Witch has really enlightened my life and I would like Her to know how much she has helped me.

I have yet to do a self dedication rite, as I have not been praticing for a year and a day. I decided when my year and day are up, I am going to perform my rite.

Your rite can be anything you wish....sitting by a lake or stream meditating, gazing into a fire or flame. Giving thanks and honoring the Goddess. It would simply be lighting a candle and saying a few words. It can be an elaborate affair, with robes, wands, athames and a cauldron. What ever you feel most cofortable with and if you feel close to the God and Goddess when doing it. That is what is important.

I agree. I think the self dedication rite is just the point where you are ready to commit to the religion. After your year and a day study is done and you feel that the path you are traveling down is the one you sincerely believe and want to follow, you just have to meditate or do something small and truly accept the religion. I guess some people could argue that you need a whole ritual, it's just my opinion that the self dedication rite is just you basically telling the God and Goddess you are dedicated (duh ) and you have officially chosen this path. They should welcome you warmly.

Light a bit of incense and pray to her. Tell her what you told us. The rituals are more for our benefit than the God and Goddess. If you feel her in your heart. Ritual is unessesary.
