Then he started saying that we should "annihilate" the other religions in the school. He then said "You wouldn't believe all the filth we have here, Jews, Muslims, Athiests, Agnostics, and even Pagans!!"
Jeeeesus christ (no pun intended!).. That guy needs a brain check. It's idiots like him that turn religion from something spiritual and 'good' into a weapon of hatred. Saying he wants to annihilate all other religions is only one step from: "God told me that Christianity is the only way.. And that all other non-Christians are heathens and should be slaughtered."

Might I ask what particular 'sect' of Christianity he's from / your school embraces? Sounds like one of the more.. 'insane' ones, that's for sure.

I also know somebody who hates Pagans. I used to work in a gaming store, and since I left they've had a new manager start.. He's already openly declared his love of God / Christianity, and his hatred for all things Pagan.. The people there have chosen to keep it quiet that his assistant manager's girlfriend, and one of his employees, are both Pagan :).

I can't understand why people throw the word 'hate' around so much. Sure, I dislike the fact that many Christians think I'm evil, but I don't hate them. The only people I can say I 'hate' are those that want to kill me to let the master-race of Christian-fanatics prevail :). There're only a few of them, but they certainly like to make themselves heard..

It's a crazy world .

He even names Jews in with the filth!?(and all the other religions to but christions are jews) Omg! Dont you with you had a tape recorder for that? I mean, thats just wrong.

It might be wrong of me, but i am the type of person that wants to get back at all the people who wine about how there religion thay had all this truble, and then put truble on other people. Because there religion is differnt. Blah...

I remeber reading a story about how this shoping center was going up, and the christions wanted to wright prayers all over it under the paint and things, but then thay found out that the local Pagans wanted to put a Yew(sp?) tree branch in the foundation for proteaction, and the christions said thay whouldnt alow it.

I'm ok with them asking there god to bless the building, but them not "allowing" any other religion to do the same thing, that bogus. Yes i understandthat eveyone has there own appenion and things, but that was inapropreat.

Sorry, that post pushed the wrong button...i'm calm now......

Hurm, a christion working in a game store?

Most the christion kids i know arnt alowed to even play the games because there aginst there god of some crap.

A guy i know had to throw out all his MTG cards because there "evil" funny thing is alot of them have bible verses on them.

That reminds me of something that happend ( yeah i am full of storys)
This kid was haveing trubal in school and he talked to his parents about it and them being the christions thay where told the 8 yearold to go pray about it. So hours latter he was still up praying so the parents whent to cheek on him, he was in the middle of his floor with all his pokemon cards around him in a circle praying to them asking them for help.

A preacher at my moms church was complaing about all the religionswhen he told that story.

I go to a public school so there is no religious affiliation but, I think he said that he was Catholic. He told us how when he was young the school let him and other Christians get out of school for a while to go to church. He also said he was going to try to reinstate it to get Christians out of classes and into church. I do wish I had a recording device but even if I did I would have been too shocked and scared to use it. As soon as he started talking I felt like I was going to be sick and I was struck with fear that he would know I'm not Christian. I was also the one sitting right next to him... :( Wow, that Pokemon story is interesting. I wonder what his parents said. They probably had a heart attack.

If he did that, then legaly i belive you could tell him you wanted to go pray to your God/Goddess like thay are and he cant say no.

But, there is so fue of us all together in one spot so we really dont get much power, witch is good, but it also means that we get "picked on" .

Another artical i read, wasa teacher was acculy fired, well almost because he was Pagan. Or she acculy was fired, i need to find that link with the collection of articals on it.

Then the whole club started agreeing and it turned into a big celebration. I am scared of my school...

O.O.....how awful. What a close minded, bigoted.....well. Ugh. I hate the fact that people like that exist.

I dunno, I would have left. Honestly, those people half the time don't give a damn about you as a person. It's all about getting more people in thier religion. Like the principal said, they want to erradicate other religions. I exprienced this in highschool. I was literally tricked into going to a prayer group. My friend, I knew him from Grammar school, not well though....he said his "new club" was meeting during free period....he said it was a study group, to help each other learn and stuff like that. Hah. I found out it was a Bible study. I found out later, from other people, members had been using tactics like that all over the place.

I got up and left, and didn't feel bad about it. These were not polite people, nor very nice to you if you politely declined thier offer.

Stuff like this seems to make want to be even more open about Wicca. How *else* can people learn? How else will they know that we aren't evil and have lives and jobs and families just like everyone else? I would rather spread knowledge and understanding, then let the ignorance and hate continue.

i can be incredibly open about my personal beliefs. I think it's important. If you ever want anyone to understand you...you need to educate them. I also think that people who put down others for their beliefs will "get theirs" so to speak. The universe has an uncanny ability to unfold as it should

there are times to stay quiet, for your own protection (like in the instance with SanityIsLost -- that -is- a little bit scary) and when its possibly not a bad idea to spill the beans, and educate.. People can be really scared of what they don't know. I'm still new, and haven't told much of anyone yet -- only people I knew before hand who were various forms of Pagan themselves.

But you have to understand, many people "hate" because they're afraid, and they're afraid because they don't know. (its like Yoda says, Fear leads to Anger, Anger leads to Hate, Hate leads to Suffering, that is the path to the Dark Side! ;) )

However Sanity- Did you mention this to a parent or someone? your principal doesn't need to be spouting off that kind of stuff... :(

 .... Wow, that dude is seriously bent!

Sanity, I am all for educating tolerance to the masses but believe me, you did the RIGHT thing by staying quiet. Sometimes silence is more than golden, it's survival.

What I find sad about it all, is that most Christians are ignorant of their own faith as well as others. The let popular opinion and the word of their "leaders" (foot note, their are Christian leaders out there who aren't off the mark but unfortunatly, the whacked ones seem to all have their own tv networks and such.)

A well educated Christian would know a simple passage spoke from Christ to his desiples (My relig. teacher is going to come back from nowhere to hit me as I have forgotten the exact passage number.) "Love the sinner even as you abhore the sin." Just because you disagree with someones philosophy, doesn't mean you should hate them as well. After all, isn't it Christian doctrain that we are ALL Gods little creations and that we should love one another?

Three words folks. WTF?!? If they are the future of the species, we are SO boned.

Goddess bless and peace be with one and all.

WW.

Halfway through the horribly long and boring meeting my principal came in and he started talking to us about how Christianity is the best thing in the world and how sorry he is that he HAS to let other religions have clubs like the Bible Club. Then he started saying that we should "annihilate" the other religions in the school. He then said "You wouldn't believe all the filth we have here, Jews, Muslims, Athiests, Agnostics, and even Pagans!!" He especially emphasized Pagans. SanityIsLost: This guy isn't just a fanatic, he's BREAKING LAWS!! I know very well that it is illegal for anyone working in a public school to discriminate based on religion, enthicity, gender, or anything!!!

If he's really this idiotic, you need to report it to his higher-ups, because they WILL fire him for this, as it is clearly outlined in national laws that this is illegal, and in my opinion just wrong!!

Not to mention, clearly this arse hole is extremely unstable, and he's only a step away from "kill 'em, KILL 'EM ALL!!". You don't have to go all out and let everyone know it was you who reported him, but I bet if you mention all the religions he's been discriminative towards to say....the school board president, I'm sure he'll get his crusading arse sent halfway back to heaven!

Best of luck to you, Sanity. Need help finding material, check your town library, they usually keep copies of school board policies there.

Honestly....these idiots!

Well the sad thing is depending on where you are, thay might not do anything about it. If your lucky and you talk to the right person ( non christion) then thay will fire them, but i honestly belive that if i whent to like the pricipal at my school because the viceprencible said something like that he whould say, prove it, or so you mean your one of thouse cult kids?

But if the principle ( or someone higher up) was agnostic, and you told him the list of people then he whould probly do something about it.

But unless you can get your friend to agree to wright a latter then thay may just think a kid came up with a clever way to get the pricipal fired.

Sorry that probly burst bubbles, but christion contole it all.

Oh yeah and here, Pagan News. Theres a prety big section on Scool issues.

Contrary to popluar belief there are Christians who are decent people who aren't warped and actually understand what the Bible says, and doesn't adjust it to fit thier causes. My wonderful boyfriend is a prime example of a tolerant Christian. There are lots of them. A Christian in power who is a truely good person would do the right thing. A Jew in power who is a truely good person would do the right thing. An agnostic, pagan, muslim....whatever..... in power who is a truely good person would do the right thing. Not all pagans are decent people. Not all Christians are bad people. Don't make that assuption, or your just as bad as them.

This is totally off topic, but, GeekyPagan...I love you for saying this. I've met many fellow pagans in my day who were...well, just plain awful people. And I've met many decent, non-judgemental Christians. And all sorts in between. If we make the "Pagan Good Christian Bad!" assumption, then we are being just as judgemental as the fundies.

Anyways, I feel for my Pagan brothers and sisters in the broomcloset, being somewhat closeted myself. But at least we know that the closet is a safe, warm place!
