Topic to wake this section up? Tell me about your path, etc

I'm sure this has been covered exhaustively, and mods, feel free to pull this if you think so, but I thought just talking about our path, how we found it, how we worship, what we put on our altar, might be a good way to fill out our 10 entries without one-word filler.

Right?

Maybe?

Ok, I'll start.

basics: Renee/23/f/FLA

Path: Isis - both Egyptian & Roman/Hellenic aspects

Origin: have a grandmother into Egyptology, and a paper written about Isis for a class on ancient religion cemented the change from interest to devotion :)

Associations: blue-green/iridescents/black, nautical, traditional Egyptian symbols (ie, scarabs, tyet, ankh), food such as honey, bread, figs, dates, onion/leek/garlic, and milk, stones such as lapis, jasper and carnelian, sun & moon

Altar: turquoise pillar, white votives, scarab pin, silver/rose quartz Isis pendant, lapis, carnelian, jasper, clay sun & moon wall hangings, "Isis" & "Egyptian" oils, palm tree oil burner, frankinscense, myrrh, lotus, musk, and rose incense, mandrake root, blue bowl of rosewater

Ritual: daily or bi-daily (or sometimes multi daily) prayer; yet to graduate to spellcraft (someday!).

Outside support: friends and family all accepting, though to varying degrees of understanding, hehe.

Ok, your turn :)

Hey, fun! It's like an email survey for the religiously high-spirited!

Basics: Briana/19/f/Utah

Path: Up in the air. Dualtheistic, most likely, leaning towards a Wiccan structure of Gardenian influence.

Origin: My grandmother was always into the supernatural and left me her tarot deck when she died. I stumbled over my first Pagan book when I was about ten, and I've studied off and on since, but I didn't begin seriously considering it until about a year ago.

Associations: Light blue/white/greens and neutral tones, the sacred spiral, floral scents and incense - specifically jasmine, sweet pea and gardenia, stones for mental and spiritual dexterity, expecially the amethyst, the east and air elements

Altar: I just set it up, actually! On a rosewood dresser that belonged to my grandmother; a sun god half-orb, my grandmother's picture, white tea lights, clear bowl of salt, chalice, seashell, pressed leaf from a hike in hte mountains, small collection of elf-shot, letters to the divine, red votive, ceramic hanging masks, and a lot of jasmine incense.

Ritual: Uh, lots and lots of prayer. I haven't really started casting yet, though I will purify my space periodically - I like the broom method. Every couple of weeks I'll go to a concert, too; I feel closer to the Lord and the Lady when I'm in a mosh pit for some reason.

Outside support: Uh, working on it. Not many people know, but I don't think they'll really care too much one way or another.

wow a path eh? well i'll just put it in words, sorry i'm not following your format. how i started? well i didn't believe in the bible basically is what through me away from that. i've been interacting with ghosts (as it seems) since i was little, so i knew that there had to be some other side of life. why paganism? mainly because i've always felt a strong connection towards ancient beliefs. so i started researching and found wicca! not that i believe all parts of wicca, but i kind of think that ancient egyptians/aboriginals had something right in their beliefs so i kind of just believe what i believe. as one can probably tell from my name, i have a strong influence from the moon, so i tend to admire moon deities since they have helped me through some rough times in my past. i currently don't have much of an altar set up, mainly because i'm always on the move. instead i try to carry various stones, runes, etc with me everywhere i go. i have performed some spells, but mainly i just cast circles to get away from the world outside and rid myself of any negativity. in fact, i've been so busy with school i haven't done this in a long time. which is probably why i'm feeling a little disconnected! thanks for the little survey. it was fun reading about you guys. anything else you wanna know?

I tend to believe that we are all trying to reach the same goal, but in different ways. Well except for Christianity. Their goals always seem to be clouded in on way or another. To tell you the truth, I don't know what path I follow. I've dabbled in herbalism, meditation, metallurgy, martial arts, traditional chinese medicine....goodness! I guess my path is one of knowledge. I just like to experience and learn. Jack of all, master of non I guess you could say.

My path was all about fate. Is it all right to just to write it?
I guess it all started when my mother died. My father told me 'God' had taken her. This is where my rampage began. I was seriously distraught and spent most of my time in the local library. One day, I was busying crying when I saw a book. I felt drawn to it. This was where my faith began.

Have to agree this looks like a fun way to get on the way to 10 posts.

Basics: Shadow/24/F/England

Path: Eclectic but working with a specifically Celtic pantheon

Origin: I was researching Wicca for a friend and found it fit a lot of how I already felt. In the last 7 yrs it has just developed from there really.

I don't tend to do a lot of spellwork or rituals but I try to do some meditation or energy work everyday. Everyone who knows, including my parents, have been very supportive.

ok, I am well past my 10 posts, but I am still feeling like a newbie.

I wish I could say what my path is, I just know I am starting to go in the right direction. I have been a lot happier this last couple of weeks. I have been burning candles for specific purposes, like protection and healing. I have done some dream work and started what I call my Book of Realms. I read about the Gods and Goddesses, I like Greek Mythology very much, but because of a book I just got 101 Myths of the Bible, I will do some research as soon as I finish reading it on Egyptian Mythology. My personal theory is that all myths come from the same source, but our minds put them in our own cultural perspective.
Reason is out to lunch. How may I help you?

I'll play...

Basics: Lisa/Too Old (okay, I'll be 43 in a few days)/F/Wisconsin (Burrrrrr)

Path: Henotheistic NeoPagan

Origin: Much of my beliefs fall under New Age and Pagan. I believe that all religions are real. My belief is that the Gods and Goddesses of ALL of the worlds religions existed, and still exist today. I believe that they are all different aspects of the Creator/God (Whatever you choose to call him/her) that God created to help all of the different world's civilizations learn and grow. My New Age beliefs are that we are all part of the same Universal Energy, and when we die we go home. We are on this Earth to learn lessons or help others learn the lessons they are here to learn. - Phew!

Altar: I don't have one.

Ritual: My goal is to make it a habit to wake up every morning. Start out with a prayer, then meditate for at least 20 minutes. At night I thank God for the day and meditate on what happened during the day.

Outside Support: Ummm.... There's the Internet.... Oh yeah! There's also my Therapist and proffesors.

Sometimes I feel kinda stupid and well... not well... what's the word... structured because I don't have a certain path that I take. My beliefs are a bit mixed. And it is confusing. I believe in Jesus and Mary but I don't really take any worship to them. That's the extent to my Christian beliefs. Everything else is fully Wiccan.

I came across my path years ago. Somehow the topic about Wicca was brought up between me and my mom where she discussed a Wiccan did a Tarot reading for her, and predicted my birth. I was young probably no more than 9-12. I instantly felt connected to it, fascinated by it. So I started researching and asked my mom some more questions and she got irritated about my interest in it. I stopped any further research till just one and half years ago. Christianity, to me, is completely too curropted and I hated going to church. You know the story.

So! I believe in the Goddess and God, I don't have an altar. I have no one to practice with or teach me Wicca. I would love an amethyst. I think as soon as I start to learn how to do spells I will want to practice protection and healing spells. I love to give to people. Wicca is a beautiful religion to me. I can clearly tell why I was so drawn to it. I enjoy homeopathic medicine and would much rather try more natural techniques then filling myself full of foreign chemicals that just seems to kill a lot of people.

Cunningham is awesome.

it's cool hearing about other people! i wish more people would post.

And i totally forgot how i signed...
