Guardian Angels?

Postby Adularia » Sun Dec 03, 2006 5:19 am

When I was younger, on two separate occassions, i awoke in the night and found a woman was sat next to my bed. She had long wavy hair and was just sitting there looking at me. She didn't move or speak. On a completely separate occassion in a completely different house, the same thing happened but this time it was a man, just sitting beside my bed perfectly still, just looking at me. Do you think these could be my guardian angels? Or that they were both the same thing, one angel, making itself visible in two different forms? Has this happened to anyone else?

This has never happened to me but it reminds me of a point made in something I recently read. You pointed out that this happened when you were younger.

Society tries so hard to convince us that what you described could only have been a dream. Finally, they may rob us of our childhood belief in things that are not readily seen.

I wish there was a way to reclaim the openness that a child has. Maybe through a childs eyes you could see these visions again. That would be wonderful I think.

That just reminded me, I also had an 'imaginary' friend when I was younger. Anyone else have one? Don't know if that's along the same lines. I do believe that there is a way to reclaim these visions in adult life, but that you have to work for it...somehow. Maybe that's why some people say they see ghosts, because they have found the way to reclaim it. :)

incidently i was doing some reading on imaginary friends and apparently it is stranger for a child not to have one(interesting thought, they probably come to that conclusion because alot of children have them) like in all honesty, i believe that there is really something there because sometimes i would listen to my little brother converse with his, and i got the impression that dear ol' Alfred didnt like me very much. and i was discussing this with my mother and she told me my imaginary friend was alot worse, got me into all sorts of trouble, apparently Sally was a real bitch of a thing(i dont remember her at all, or any of my childhood really), back to the original ideas, i think these are a guardian of some sort.

as for reclaiming these visual thingies i believe they are re-claimable, but i think you have to be as open minded as a child, which is almost impossible for most adults, because as we grow up we develp personal truths which we are most likely, unlikely to waver for the possibility of something else given that we have believed it for many years

See with me, I remember imaginary friends, I remember making one up each time me and my sisters got in a fight and I needed someone to be on my side and say stuff to my sisters. Though there are strange memories from my childhood that I wonder about. When I was little honest to god I thought I could float. I thought when I jumped in the air I would come back down slowly, a lot like a feather. Unlike the imaginary friend, this was very real to me. Each time I tried to show my mom, it didnt work though. It is strange though, I don't know what I was feeling, but it was something, maybe not what I thought it was but it was something. What do you guys think? Obviously I couldnt defy gravity, but thats how I remember it. The other weird childhood thing, is I used to hallucinate a lot, but that was whenever I got a fever. The only thing that ever kept with me when i wasnt sick, was I could see spider webs, and they would slowly get closer to me. But i think i know what that was.

I'm one of the weird kids that didn't have an imaginary friend. I remember that I tried to make one up once because I was confused that I didn't have one but other people supposedly did. I know that I always felt very safe (not just in the way that kids are always fearless) and comforted when I was alone, though. I guess that may be part why I didn't have a lot of friends growing up. I preferred to be alone.

I think that they could have been guardian angels. When I was 12, my parents got a divorce and it was just before Christmas and I was having a really awful time. One night when I was in bed crying, the corner of my room lit up really bright. I panicked and it went away. As I lay back down, it came again and this time I ran downstairs in fear. It is one of my biggest regrets because since that day I've studied angels and the paranormal and it's never come back. Sure, I've had experiences but that lovely light that once scared me never came back.

I was only about 6 or 7 when the 'incidents' happened, but my parents also got divorced when I was 5. So it could have been a protective thing i guess.

I remeber seeing this woman she looked like she was looking for something, she had a glow to her, i dont know if she was a ghost, an angel, or a goddess or something. But i was just told it was a dream or my imagination, so i had forgoten about it for a while.

I was alone most my child hood, well play mate wize, so i had an imaginary friend, her name was Carla. I dont remeber alot about my childhood either really. Wondering is something happend or if i dont care to remeber.

I had many imaginary friends, they were largely disposable, I created them to play with in certain scenarios, but they generally didn't cross over from one game to another different one. I think my imaginary horses were probably more static than imaginary humans. The only one my parents ever knew about was one created solely for the purpose of "I didn't do it, she did!" when I was really little! No guide but God, it seems.

I remember having imaginary friends, but I was also aware that they weren't real. My favourite was called 'Stella' and she would always encourage me do something a little bit mischevious. I guess it was my rebellious side personified, lol.

Angels are spirits and can take any form they want, and I doubt that they would have any gender.

God will definitely send Angels to protect just about anyone--even whole armies full, so I am sure that God is watching out for people whether they return His affections or not. I hope that is encouraging to hear.

But be cautious Aularia, true angels are not inclined to show themselves out of humilty and reverence for God whom they serve. It is their purpose to point us God-ward, and not to draw attention to themselves. I'm sure you've heard that even "Satan appears as an angel of light."

So out of concern for you Adularia, and anyone else with similar experience, be cautious.

If you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. But before that can happen He seeks us out, like the one lost sheep out of a 100. Perhaps He was seeking you that night.

<Yawn> Red - quit it with the proselytizing. It is so tedious.

We wouldn't come onto one of your Christian forums and attempt to 'convert' anyone to Paganism, so you might want to try giving us the same respect.

Ever wondered why you don't hear pagans proselytizing? Because we tend to believe that everyone has the right to choose their own path - and no one path is 'right' or 'wrong'. You should try it sometime.
