ARRRGHH AGAIN!

Postby Eretik » Mon Dec 25, 2006 9:08 pm

Guess what folks - my daughter's in hospital again, this time it's for real - the baby is coming and she's not as far on as we thought, she's only 26wks now! - Good wishes would be really appreciated, It's looking seriously bad - I'm terrified! I 'm going up there now - will check in later.

I'm just back, I came on here to distract myself. They have no special care incubators left in Glasgow, Edinburgh or anywhere else but Dundee - they've taken them there now. I'm waiting for news. They're so far away from me, I don't know what to do with myself - I can't be there! This is hard.

It's 05.47 here and I just got news that they are both fine, but I don't know what that means exactly - hopefully labour's stopped in time. It was a text message, hope if anyone sees this, you know I'm not mad - I just didn't want to leave the above posts there without an update. I'd still really appreciate your positive thoughts, I don't know how things will progress from here - I've never prayed so hard or felt so powerless - they are still so far from me.

I'm just back from Dundee - a cold and soulless place! The baby is o.k. so far, still in utero, thank all The Gods, they've pumped my daughter full of steroids, antibiotics and all kinds of drugs - they can't find a cause yet. She's not happy at all and the stress is getting to her. I jumped on a bus there yesterday, on a wing and a prayer - thanks to some kind bus staff, who found us seats out of nowhere, I am grateful to them for that. Also to the nurse who arranged emergency accomodation, albeit grudgingly,The scans showed us it's a boy! I hope they can get them back here soon - if not I'll be back up there tomorrow - unless my oldest daughter goes into labour tonight, which is possible - I phoned her and she's showing signs of early labour![maybe] Hope she can wait a bit longer tho. She has pelvic dysfunction and is very uncomfortable and scared too. It's all go here! Thanks for the positive thoughts, keep 'em coming, we need all the help we can get.Geri.

I'm so sorry I didn't get a chance to read this earlier! *gives you a big reassuring hug*

I'm glad everyone seems to be doing better, but I'll keep my thoughts on you and your family until I hear differently.

Thank you so much. I have good news, they are home now. My daughter had further tests and they all came back negative - one doctor has a 'theory' but I'm not happy about that. She discharged herself, as the hospital was sending my son in law away - no bus fare, no money - stranded in Dundee! [ my son arranged a ticket for him by text/credit card] and the hospital arranged transport for her - taxi to the bus station, ticket home - I am incensed that this happened, but they only told me when safely on the bus! Believe me - I'd have been on the next bus up, if they'd told me sooner. I'm glad she's here as I can keep an eye on her and I will make sure she gets what she needs, if that means back to hospital, so be it, but the steroids etc. have improved how she's feeling - so hopefully that won't be necessary, for now. I am outraged by the attitude of staff and the hospital concerned and will be taking this further. Honestly, I'm too annoyed to go into full details but I wasn't happy with the situation when I was there, my other daughter has settled a bit, but tomorrow could be interesting - I think I may be seeing my granddaughter sooner than I expected. Thanks again for the support, it is very much appreciated. Geri.
