Your thoughts needed to preserve a green space

Postby Storm » Sat Dec 30, 2006 7:00 am

At the moment I am fighting to save a green space behind my parents' house. It is a home for wildlife and a community green area in which people stroll, meet and walk their dogs. But the construction companies are licking their lips and have applied to turn it into a building site.

I have written many letters, organised a petition and rallied the neighbours. But I think a spot of magical help might not go amiss.....

if there are trees, take the hippy approach, all you need is some good chains.

I second that sobek!
Seriously, if you have tried all other ways such as petitions, rallying, meeting the local government rep, advertising etc etc then gather similar minded people and chain yourselves together and DO NOT move.
Take food, blankets, flasks full of soup, mobile phone and sit it out. If nothing else it will cause a great deal of destruction and money for the construction company involved.
But I will send some energy for the tress and green space and all the people trying to stop building on this site anyway.
:D

Nature is taking a backseat to commerce. I don't think the money mongers will stop their plans. You can make your backyard a friendly place for animals and woodland spirits. If you make it they will come! If you do a sit in you could get arrested. Somethings to think about.->O<-

Sadly I don't have a back garden as I live in top floor flat. It is the field behind my parents' house that I am fighting to protect.

I expect they will win. But I have to fight the fight, even if it is unlikely that I will win. Apathy must not prevail.

If I was in London, I'd do a sit in. But since I can't afford the plane ticket, I'll send my energy there for sure. We need to preserve every spot of green we can. It's too important.

God luck in your fight. That was an accidental typo, I meant good luck, but I'll keep it in as God luck [ and Goddess!] seems appropriate, lol. Not got much energy to spare right now but I 'm with you on this too. I love the wild spaces and would be bereft if I lose those spaces around me, I need to connect to them.
