Ethnic Fair

There was one at my school last night and while I was there, it was completely overwhelming. I'm so bummed I couldn't get any pictures because I forgot my camera. But it was still an amazing experience all the same.
When they held the different dance performances, the first one, an Indian dance of which I forget the name, was so energetic and full of life it almost made me cry, lol. It wasn't sad or anything, it was just the fact that I could 'feel' the dance, not just see it. It was the same with everything else, but luckily I didn't get the feeling of crying anymore. People would have certainly given me strange looks if I would have burst into tears. XD
Anyway, here is the poem I wrote after I got home later that evening.

Just Be

It was chaotic
The air thick with change
Emotion
A dance of flavors, exoticism, life
I found myself wanting
Yearning to drown in the differences of unity
Colors flashing
A gaze, observing
Energy spilling from vessels
Of beating hearts and working minds
This culture thing
This beautiful thing
Let’s be a part of it
Stand out
Then
Link arms
This is your background
Playing the lead role
In the performance of diversity
