Raising Energy Troubles

When i visualize my energy i see it as blue lightning going in circles around my body/hands. (I use to get really confused cause some of the books ive read tell me to visualize my energy as a white glowing light and i simply cant.)The problem is that i dont ever feel my own energy, I was thinking maybe my visualizing isnt that good...
